So a month or two back I was skating with my friend and I crashed pretty bad. Since then I got all healed up but I have a giant scar on my right knee. It's around the size of a quarter and it is kind of tall and I think it's filled with some kind of liquid. It hurts really bad if I touch it or bump it against something and a couple weeks ago I bumped my knee against the corner of a wooden chair and it hurt for a couple minutes but then I noticed that my scar was almost flat. But a day or two after that, it returned to being tall and lumpy.

So I guess what I'm asking is, what can I do to get the liquid out of it so it's not so tall and also what can I do to make it not hurt to touch? Any help would be appreciated. :) Thank you.

Scars can become infected if there was any debris left in the wound, you may want to consult a doctor if there is liquid discharge and pain this long after the incident.

Thank you! But I don't think it's infected because at my mom's office where she is a counselor there is a nurse practitioner there who I go to see for meds and she said that it didn't look infected. But it still could be, I hope it's not.

It could have a sebaceous cyst under the skin. Which is a small sac filled with a oily cottage cheese looking substance. They can form where cuts once were. Usually they are not painful, but they can be if irritated or infected.
Does this lump always hurt, or has it been painless in the past?

It hasn't been painless in the past I don't think, it went from being a huge deep round cut in my knee to being a lumpy painful scar.
