This is an effort to move towards a more user generated (and funded, don't be stingy! I'll be donating for pioneer one as soon as I have the money) society (and just as the internet moves towards heavy corporate control with the net neutrality problems)

    http://vodo.net/

They have submitted movies, as well as projects bing run through them, including pioneer one, which I think is brilliant: it took a kind of silly premise and did a WONDERFUL job so far, beats the hell out of law and order or whatever. I have watched them all, and some are better and some are worse, but I enjoyed all of them, well worth the however much you want to pay:

    Pioneer one- http://vodo.net/pioneerone

This looks really cool too, it's based on a brave new world type of situation, I haven't watched any yet but just started both torrents:

    Zenith- http://vodo.net/zenith

Don't forget to check out their movies, there's a bunch, of all lengths. Some look like utter crap, and some look great-users like you are the ones who decide though!

You will need bittorrent or a compatible client to download these-it's totally legal and free, so long as you only download creative commons, GNU, or similarly licensed software or media. I'm using transmission, because it came with my linux distro, but there's a host of clients. The wikipedia article explains it, and has links to the original and third party clients- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_(protocol)

It's better to be a pirate than join the navy. Or at least, it's more fun and cheaper to sail on a pirate ship, and stop and trade in a friendly manner with creative commons ports :D

So, download, enjoy, and don't forget that if you like it you can donate to help these guys out, and don't forget to leave your bit torrent client running when you're on your computer, with the torrents still in it, to seed to other users, bit torrent means that everybody downloads and shares from everybody else. You can open the client when you start your computer and leave it running to share, and most(all?) clients will have an option allowing you to throttle how much they're uploading, so that you can dribble a few k per second all the time, and help a lot but do it slowly so that it doesn't slow your internet down in a way that hurts your browsing habits. (some of you with nice internet can make that a few MEGS per second ;) )

    Bump, and:

I would very much suggest the vodo p2p yes men release, i'm watching it right now, it has content that the US chamber of commerce is suing to prevent distribution of, so you can only see it p2p.... though i don't think it's particularly valuable footage, other than being embarassing as fuck for them :D

    Bumpin' again....

Watched "snowblind", "person of interest", and about to watch some more.

I'd suggest both. Snowblind is rather good, amazing considering all or most of it's done green screen, even though it's a privately funded underground film. Person of interest is full of insanity and brain damage and feels like a dream, it was interesting and had good acting and editing, I liked it but it wasen't quite as riveting as snowblind, it has a very fluid story and ending, you're really not sure what happened at any point of anything, it might be a good combo with a medium dose of DXM.

    Bumpin'.

"whale" was a massive waste of my time to watch, don't. It's a story about nothing happening and some people getting drunk and otherwise just doing shit that people do, while in an early-life crisis. And it's horribly edited, could have been much better if they just removed about 3/4ths the footage that didn't need to be there at all. I would suggest against watching it.

Watched episode 3 of zenith, and it was a somewhat annoying cliffhanger to give them a doorway to make more, even though it's the last in that 3-piece experimental series. But it was still very good. If you watch zenith, download them all and watch strait through.

Have a few more movies downloaded like 4 eyed monsters and golden spiral, and am eagerly awaiting more pioneer one episodes. Will report back.

Checked out Pioneer One - Excellent.

Camera skills need a bit of improvement, and some very noticeable continuity errors (eg. Phone call with river in background - ships apparently passing by & changing in mid-sentence).

However, despite all the minor criticisms, the script, storyline & acting are of very high quality (as well as being extremely addictive) & I wouldn't be at all surprised to see some of the actors discovered in the near future for professional careers in Hollywood.

For anyone who liked pioneer one, they're working on season 2. Still need donations to help with debt and with using the first season to find real financial backing.
