Hey, i'm just curious to see if anyone else on here has this same reactions to mushrooms. I love the visual experience of mushrooms, and I love the warm happy feeling that follows but i've got a problem with them where my state of mind keeps changing on me. It's like one trip after another, i'll be having a great time and then suddenly i'll be paranoid, sick, and scared about something but I have NO idea what's wiggin me out. I've had no problems with any other hallucinogens like this, but it seems that mushrooms take over my mind and take me on an emotional rollercoaster.

A few times this has taken me to the point where I decide in my mind "This is going to be a bad trip" and all goes down hill from there. I get worried, paranoid, start moving around and pacing sometimes, pacing in circles looking for something when i'm not even sure what exactly i'm looking for, and being confused about everything. Don't get me wrong, I love mushies but it seems that EVERY trip is different and if anything triggers me into a bad state of mind the trip is ruined and I turn into a mess for the next 3 hours.

Has anyone ever experienced something like this? Do you get the confused/scared/sketchy feeling? Do you ever need to go outside because indoors is just too much? Feel free to post stories/advice to relate/help with this paranoia problem. :)

No trolls/rude comments please, not interested.
    Peace&love

All very common effects of psychedelics (but at least for me, mushrooms in particular). You're correct, every trip is different. I've had mushroom experiences that rivaled my best MDMA experiences as far as empathy and all around feel-good are concerned, on the flip side, they are the only thing that has had me on my knees begging whatever is out there to not let me die haha (of course I was fine). A change of setting can have huge impacts, sometimes the indoors do indeed make me feel a bit closed in. Just remember that you're alright and stay in comfortable settings. One thing that might be worth thinking about is checking out acid if you never have; at least for me and several of my friends I find it to be more energetic, great visuals, quite clear headed (though still tripping), and much more consistent. Remember that mushrooms have a handful of compounds in them, not just psilocin and psilocybin, and these compounds can be in drastically differing ratios, even from mushroom to mushroom from the same batch.

Yeah, I totally agree with your thoughts on acid. Mushrooms mind fuck me, and i'm not a fan of that. I found it strange that mushrooms gave me worse trips than acid (Because mushrooms are natural and acid is chem) but I guess it's not just me. Thanks for the input :)

I've come to the conclusion that having a thread on this forum with only nice/constructive comments is impossible. :)

Edit: Canada, Ontario eh? Well I can't dislike you now. I live in Barrie. :)

There's a million things you can do to make your trip better. if you feel sick or queasy, make tea, and strain the raw material. If you feel the popular warm / extremely cold feeling, grab a blanket.

My worst trip I escaped by hiding under a blanket for 5 hours. It was the worst experience of mental confusion and pain I've ever had. I puked to. But I'd do it again in a second.
    This next one actually. Peace.

Mushrooms are pretty chaotic and emotional like that, it's just their style. Try 4-aco-dmt if you want a cleaner mushroomy trip.

That's cool you're able to compare acid and mushrooms (as I feel they're the "classic" psyches), but remember, just because a mushroom occurs naturally doesn't mean it's safe...there are many plants all throughout nature that will kill you in a heart beat. I think "synthetic" and "man-made" have bad connotations about them. In reality, psilocybin is a compound, no more or no less than is lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD). The difference is in the vector that brings any compound into your body, whether it be a tiny piece of paper or a dried fungal body. In short, it isn't the mushrooms per se that you trip off of, it's the compounds inside them; thus natural or man-made, a compound is a compound, some dangerous, some not. Hope you have an amazingly blissful next adventure; sometimes that's all it takes to get reacquainted and put water under the bridge :2thumbsup:

Thanks for all the good feedback. :) I'm grabbing some mush next weekend and hopefully this trip turns out better than my past few, I'll post a trip report afterwards.
