Manhattan has alot of activities, depending on what you like. For clubs , i know everyone is talking about Webster hall
I haven't been to an NYC club in a few years but try and stay in touch w/ the scene. For Electronic Dance Music like techno, dubstep, etc.. Check out District36 http://d36nyc.com/ This is probably the biggest of the super clubs http://www.pachanyc.com/ If this is what you're lookin for try and experience NYC after hours. Unfortunatley the scene has changed since when I was goin and the events aren't as often as they used to be. Brooklyn has a bunch of raves all the time you can also find a bunch of fun in lower manhattan alphabet city or the village.... The bronx and upper manhattan is where you will find the best drugs imo but i guess i know a few people lived there for many yrs
don't think all of new york is just new york city, you'll be sadly mistaken. only a fraction of new york is the city the rest well theirs a big variety i live in a college town and its pretty sweet when college is in session but sucks when it's not. buffalo has a good music and arts scene I'm from a town 45 mins outside of it but moving to buffalo shortly
