I was at a similar demo yesterday and the national police were surprisingly good humoured. I did see news footage from various towns and cities across the country and the police reactions varied widely. Local police are governed by the local authority so you would expect to see various ways of handling the same situation but the national police are supposed to follow the same guidelines. It's obviously down to how the regional commander sees the situation.

What really fucking angers me is that the officers aren't even slightly embarrassed by their behaviour. They know that they're being filmed and they just don't give a fuck! I think that they just try to incite bad bahaviour by the peaceful demonstrators so they can justify their actions. I've been around a long time and things haven't changed! At least they don't seem to be using horses quite so much. Those bastards are big, powerful and are pretty much used as battering rams. Scary stuff! But popular revolt is the only way to go. I am so glad that the citizens of various European countries are of a similar mind!
This at every protest i've watched. The german video 2 minutes in a female police officer pushes a female protestor and the smirk the officer has is sick! She enjoys the small bit of power hiding behind the other officers. Anyways, no matter how many videos i watch, how many articles i read, or how many protests i've seen in the streets, one thing is very clear, corrupt government is global. Every countries citizens is growing with tired of being abused, law biting citizens are being fucked over by greedy men in suits. Wether you live in Germany, Spain, London, Africa, Asia, United States, it does not matter, we are all in this together, even if we are 4000 miles apart speaking a different language. We are all fighting corrupt government. The global elites are working together trying to enslave each country. We must stand our own ground on the land we live on and support one another regardless of race, religion, color, and beliefs, because governments don't care, they will fuck us over regardless.
