Where the buffalo roam is an awesome hunter s. thompson based movie that came out in the 80's (i think?)

Its just as nutty as fear and loathing just not quite as vivid or nightmarish, more realistic i'd say

The Rum Diaries is also coming out sometime this year (another Depp - Hunter S. Thompson reunion if you will)

I think this movie makes Fear and Loathing look more realistic. I watched F and L first and I kinda thought it was over the top, and exagerated, but after seeing where the buffalo roam, and seeing Bill Murray act exactly the same way as Johnny Depp, it really reinforced that these movies are about a real guy, who is really like that.

seriously, where the Buffalo Roam is an awesome movie and I love it.

I heard that Bill Murray had to stay at Hunter S Thompsons house for a week before Thompson would let him play the roll. and that Thompson tied Murray to a chair and threw him in the pool, and when Murray escaped, Thompson trusted him enough to play the part and that they have been good friends ever since. I don't know if that is a true story or not, but after looking at thompson's life, it is certainly easy to beleive that he would do it. And he and Murray really were friends.
