we were talking birthdays here... how do you feel about your birthday? what do you do for your birthday? what do you want for it?? what kind of birthdays did you have when you were a kid?? i make my birthday a massive event that defines the year and cracks the fucking world in tween, it has a gravitational pull of its own......... but i hate my birthday in a huge huge way... i make it into a big deal because it is funny to me, and because sometimes you can become so much of a focus that it is like hiding in plain view...
I think I'm at that age now, where, I couldn't give two hoots what I do to be honest. I mean, growing up, it was always the 18th and 21st that you look forward to, but once that passes, you're left thinking - 'what's next?' I probably won't make a big deal out of any birthdays coming up - but rather, just quiet time with friends, family and the girlfriend.
Last year on my birthday my girlfriend set the apartment on fire so i got a nice big candle to put out with the fire extinguisher.It will be one i always remember .
The gifts get worse every year. Either someone doesn't know what to get you, and you get 100 of the same thing, or you get something that you have no use for. Take this as an example. Seeing as I was never, ever a drinker - for my 18th and 21st, I only got about 10 beer mugs over the two birthdays, most of which, are now in the shed, never to be used.

i didnt like em when i was little cause everyone was on summer vacation but i now i just dont pay any attention to it.... I get the usual calls from family, etc. few gifts from the mother and i call it a day.
umm, i guess kind of indifferent. the last several years, i've been stuck working late shifts. if i were to get a gift, the timing is good for this: what kind? good ones i guess.
I usually spend it with my family. A nice meal and good wishes. Often lovely gifts. A good excuse to get together with people I really love.
My birthday is the one day I turn into a spoiled and selfish princess. I spend the rest of the year taking care of everyone else and doting to everyone else's wants and needs, so I take my birthday for myself and ultimately end up driving someone crazy because they don't think it should be that way. They can kiss my ass. As a kid, a had a couple parties at a skating rink and a bowling alley, but most of my birthdays, my dad took me, my brother, and we were each allowed to bring one friend and we'd go to this pizza place with a huge arcade and bumper cars and then he'd take us to the movies. Then I got a little older and just started having a friend stay the night on my birthday. When I was 18, my friends and I had a party at a friend's house, but the assholes wouldn't let us drink, then broke out the alcohol after we left. Jerks. Then when I was 19, I got a birthday cheeseburger from the gas station I hung out at and spent the evening playing with clay in a bum's camper. 20 was a midnight barbecue, 21 was a bunch of nothing because I had to have a rotty tooth pulled the next day. 22 and 23 I barely remember, but I think 22 sucked. And my most recent birthday, I went to see Harry Potter with the boyfriend's family and we had a late dinner at the Waffle House. This year, I don't know what I'll do. We'll see.
usually my birthday is just a normal day. just I get a few gifts and some money. when i was younger I had a few birthdays at a theme park or a arcade though.
