Ok so if you've read any of my other LSD posts you'd prolly know me as the annoying kid whining about LSD messin him up for a bit. I had pretty bad mood swings and bad social anxiety and just an overall shitty state of mind for a good 4 months or so.

I still can't smoke weed without getting sketched out but other than that it's all clearing up now:) and I'm feeling pretty good....my personality is coming back and all that jazz and the anxiety is pretty much gone except for the few bad days. Anyhow there are still days when I'll just feel rather spacey or down but its not anywhere near as consistent as it used to be.

So my question is...I'm going to EDC this coming saturday and I'm thinking of trippin shrooms in an attempt to reconnect with everything and get over this last hurdle and I'm just curious as to you guy's opinions. I would roll but I'm concerned about the HIGH probability of getting impure rolls and I'm thinkin maybe natural substances would be the way to go.

I've only tripped shrooms once and I was SUPER connected to everything unlike acid when I'm always in my own zone so I'm thinkin the fact that i've only ever experienced connectedness on shrooms this might influence this next one to be like that?? Idk...

So what does everyone think??? I know this isn't the shroom forum but this one gets more attention....what would you guys do??? To trip or not to trip??

shrooms can make you feel just as spaced out and out of it afterwards as acid . . . it's just your brain chemicals being strained. having a 'super connected' shroom trip isn't going to make your next acid trip that way btw, if thats what you were asking :D doesn't work like that, each trip is a unique experience.

    is EDC a music fest?

Ya. It's a massive rave in so cal. It's moved to Vegas this year partly (mostly?) due to alot of bad publicity last year after a underage girl died. It was very cool when I went a few years back when it was smaller. It's gotten arena sized now.

Yea i know what you're saying....but the thing is I feel fine now and don't so much feel like my brain is out of whack like it used to be I feel like the majority of my social problems and any problems I have are really pretty much perception based at this point....So I was thinkin of trippin shrooms to just get a good experience under my belt and put the negative behind me....and I feel like with acid there's a stronger chance I'll have a similar trip to my previous acid trip.....But yea I definitely hear where you're coming from.

And yea EDC(Electric Daisy Carnival) is a big electronic music fest.

    Something to keep in "mind"...

    LSD rewires your brain. Permanently.

Sounds like you had a heavy, bad trip for some reason. So the rewiring was not what you were expecting. You don't describe the trip here, so I can't single out what caused the ongoing anxiety. Did you get to the ego death? Cause that is important to reintegrating yourself.

Perhaps your own scene, the people around you, their state of minds are conflicting with your newly wired brain. You might need to change your life from the bottom up if you are having such prolonged feelings.

I don't think another trip will necessarily help unless you never got to the ego death part. But I think you did, and that's what is throwing you off. You're not the same anymore and probably need to change your life to reflect it.

If you went back to your old ways, your psyche may be trying to get you to change and you're resisting, thus causing your distress. It could be an internal conflict that still needs to be resolved.

Usually when people trip they do it a few times in short order, getting deeper each time. But if you have a bad reaction, you really need to discover why.

I found Yoga to be an excellent way to rediscover yourself after tripping. It helps unite your mind and body and provides a clarity and balance that might be missing after a trip.

Good luck to you! Let us know how things turn out.

Well it wasn't really ego death during the bad trip...To make a long trip story short for some reason I was just having trouble communicating effectively and I was with 5 other people...only knew one of them who was also trippin with me....1 other I just met was also trippin....and the other 3 were drunk...Well my so called "friend" decided to fuck with me the whole time and just pretty much put me in a huge mind fuck. He just got everyone to act all crazy off and on and that threw me into one of those repeating loops and on top of that I was still having a hard time communicating....by that point I just couldn't decipher between when they were just messing around or if everyone around me really just was insane...it was weird...a terrible experience

So it was just bad gone to worse....Idk really if my brain chemistry has rewired that much as you say cause I feel SO much better than I did a few months ago....I really feel like it was just a really traumatic experience and threw me off mentally for a while...thats why I'm thinking a positive trip might help me out...but who knows

Oh and I also told that "friend" to fuck off a couple weeks ago and told him exactly why...I felt a lot better after that too.

I'm no big city detective, but I think that might have had something to do with you being on LSD ;)

What year did you go? I went in 08

    I saw

    Evol Intent
    Rabbit in the Moon
    Dieselboy
    Dj Dan 2x4 Donald Glaude
    Moby
    Paul van Dyk

EDC was very cool, it was like a theme park and a rave. My friend rolled for his first time that night, said it was the best night of his life.

It was 06. Before it was in LA it was at a smaller venue in San Berdoo

I mostly went to see this "band".

Honestly, I don't remember what music groups were there, and I didnt spend much time in any of the tents. Mostly outside looking at the art installations, chilling, eating/drinking. I did'nt trip.

edit: just saw they will be down your way next month. you should check em.

I'd try and find some ecstasy instead, the two times I've raved on mushrooms have been kind of weird. Maybe 1/2 eighth if you get some mushrooms.

acid doesn't actually re-wire your brain, though it can significantly change the way you think. but it seems like you just had some idiot messing with you and were really really high :)

taking shrooms in a huge crowded setting like that could be asking for trouble. but who knows, it might be a blast.

shrooms can be just as likely to give you a "bad trip" though. the fact that they are natural means nothing - little buggers can me harsh:devil:

Acid LITERALLY re-wires your brain. Learn how the brain works before you make such statements. All traumatic experience rewire our brains significantly. Our brains are being rewired moment to moment, but not on the scale of an Acid trip or heavy trauma.

@the OP, I was going to suggest you had problems with your set and setting, and now that you've described what happened in more detail, it's obvious that was your problem.

Read up on the importance of set and setting for an acid trip. Hanging around people you don't know who are drunk is possibly one of the worst things you can do.

    Think before you drop!!!

Yea I know about set and setting...it was supposed to of been just me and my one other friend and we were at his house....but the guy we bought it from decided to stay and trip too....and then he just invited his girlfriend and some of her friends over. I wasn't down with it but it wasn't my place and I wasn't in any shape to be driving so it was a tad bit out of my control.
