Last month I got into a car accident. Even though my insurance paid for the majority of the damages, we had to pay a $1,000 deductible. My parents paid for it with a check, and I told them that I would pay them back. My dad started taking money out of my savings account, and now I do not have a lot of money in my account. Tonight I asked my mom if they can wait until I am more financially stable to pay the rest of the money back, and she pretty much freaked out on me, telling me that I'm making her feel guilty for taking my money. Now she's telling me that I don't care for her, and how mean I was to her (after she yelled at me for unintentionally making her feel guilty, I got my back up). Should I feel bad? I think my mom misunderstood what I was asking of her. I think that she thought I was telling her to stop taking my money, but all I did was ask if she can stop taking my money until I get more money to pay them back.
yeah, maybe you could have a follow-up conversation about this if there are deeper issues here, maybe family therapy hope this all works out!
