I went to the recent Pirate of the Caribbean movie, and though I'm not one of those girls who drools over Johnny Depp, I found myself wanting to scalp him for his awesome hair. :p So I'm considering beading parts of my hair and getting a few dreads.

My question is, is that possible? Can I just dread sections here and there? Will it look terrible? Will it annex other hair around it?

    Thanks so much. XD

Yeah, it is possible. I don't think it looks bad at all. I think it would be hard to take care of when you are washing your hair because you don't want to get conditioner and stuff in it. And I'm pretty sure your other hair will be safe if you brush it.

the only difficulty will be keeping loose hairs separate from the dread, and stopping them from forming a massive knot all around it.

ou can absolutely just have a few dreads. I've seen it done a lot, and I personally had just one dread for about a month before I did the rest of my head. Personally I think it's a great way to enjoy dreadlocks without going all out and doing the entirety of your hair. I've also seen girls that have had the bottom layer of hair dreaded and left the rest of it brushable-- so it's definitely not unheard of.

Yep, it's possible. Has a little bit of upkeep to ensure the rest of your hair doesn't tangle around it. But really that can just be resolved by brushing. You'll be like johnny depp before you know it.

Should Work Just Fine, But I Wouldn't Let Conditioner Anywhere Near Them, Just Use Baking

Soda Instead Of Shampoo/Conditioner And Everything Should Be Tickity Boo...:sunny:

I've seen people with just a few locks. I started with just one. Where you'll run into trouble is if you don't separate the unlocked hair from the locks, they'll start having sex with each other. then you'll probably say fuck it and do your whole head. or, you'll keep them separate for at least a year until the sex potential is lessened bc the lock has become more mature and doesnt try to take the hairs around it.

both my wife and son had just one for a while. she would braid a section, do a hair wrap and dread grew from there. there were really no problems of other hair, especially since they still combed their hair.
