The day began with my and 2 friends going to a local smoke shop to get some new bubblers, after we bought them, we parked the car in an area away from the road and started smoking, this all went fine. After we were done, we went to school to pick up my friend after he was done taking exams, well he had a few friends that had bud to match so they all got in, went to their house and picked up their bud. There were 7 of us total. We all went to an area in a neighborhood that we always smoke at, we call it the hobo tree (Homeless people used to live here). After parking my car and we all walked into the woods, my friend pulled out a lighter and it was white, I said "im not using that" so i actually went all the way back to my car to get my green lighter. The kid with the white lighter says "What? its not like were gonna get caught or anything" lmao, boy was he wrong. After 15 minutes of chillin and smokin my friend goes "Holy shit thats a cop right there" i thought he was trying to scare us, but i turned around AND THERE WAS A FUCKING COP WALKING RIGHT TOWARD US. He had his gun drawn and pointed at us. We ran because were dumb, we got out of the woods and there were literally 7 more cops ALL with guns drawn pointed at us yelling at us to get down. 3 kids ran away in a different direction, i just stayed because i was pretty blazed. haha. Anyways, 2 of the 3 kids that ran the other way actually got away. Since we got arrested and my car was here, they said they were going to search it, i didn't want them to because my weed was inside the car, well he found it and now im fucked. My charges are pos of paraphernalia, pos of marijuana, and pos of tobacco by a minor. Court date is August 25, just wondering by any of you that have been caught, whats it like? is it harder to get a job? and what am i gonna get? i know probation or attend NA, but what kind of fines, etc. EDIT* I live in VA if this helps at all Any help is much appreciated. Im really superstitious about white lighters being bad luck, my friend was using one, and we got caught.
Generally speaking I have found that superstitions like that, would be better blamed on little things like a crowd of kids going to a known smoking spot in the afternoon tends to attract attention...

Easier to blame lighter than to take personal responsibility for poorly thought out actions. Those cops were waiting and planning long before any lighter was pulled. Sucks to be busted though. Pot shouldn't be a crime.

that really sucks man, i would have probably ran off like those 3 kids,but I'm a fuckin' retard ;p if you do believe in the superstition, you should have taken his white lighter thrown it and drove to a new spot because they are REALLY bad luck in some situations. i had to face a situation like this too once. the guy with the lighter said "i just don't believe i that bullshit." i guess i had to as well, and we didn't get caught.
I fixed my white lighter problem, I just found a butterscotch candy wrapper when I was stoned and I taped it onto my lighter. Thus my lighter is now a "butterscotch lighter" and it hasn't given me any bad luck SINCE
ok i can understand the possession charge but that is just a dick move to charge you with the tobacco possession as well. 5+ cops?.. vary your smoking spots and or smoke on your own property.. I think when you turn 18 you get a clean sheet but that might not b the case in your state idk
Since your a minnor you may get a break. When I was younger I had a friend who was pulled over with a scale, bags, a bong, and a few pipes, and a few OZ of bud. It was clear what his after school job was. He ended up with community service with drug testing. But if he had been over 18, he would have probably been hammerd with a distribution charge. In your case, it did not appear that you were even selling, your just an end user. White lighters are nothing but bad luck.
"White lighters" is the term we used to use for fluffy new-age Pagan types. Just a random thing the title reminded me of.
Now i've heard of these superstitions before but i always heard it was supposed to be a red BIC. i guess it just varies depending on where you're from lol.
