i got to try shrooms last weekend with my friends at the lake. ive been reaserching them for a long time and i was soooo excited i got to do them. the main reason i wanted to do them was for the visuals. so i got to eat about 2.5 or 3 grams of mushrooms and it kicked in about an hour. (i was already drunk and blazed by the way) at first i just felt stonedddd. i felt realllly happy and everything was reallllly slow and i could barely walk straight. the only obvious visuals i saw was the moon letting off bright green rays of light and these tree branches were following me wherever i went. and the stars looked like they were falling down. then i got scared for some reason that i really dont know so i went up to the house and i threw my guts out. i think that was because i was drunk, but idk. that was when my trip turned really bad or,, difficult. i decided to lay down so i went to our bunk beds and layed down but then i freaked out even more because i was on the bottom bunk and there was barely any room for me to move. overall, it was fun but i didnt expect it to be that way. i thought there would be wayyy more visuals on shrooms, i was dissapointed. i am thinking about taking acid now becuase theyre wasnt that much visuals on shrooms, should i? but after my shrooms trip it made me think that i would freak out on acid. should i try acid or try more shrooms to get the visuals that i imagined it would be
first, tripping isn't all about visuals. it's not like everything turns into a cartoon (until maybe higher doses ) don't take mushrooms or LSD when you're drunk next time. take your psychedelics when you are otherwise sober. shrooms can upset your stomach a little, so can LSD for some people. not as bad as booze though. tripping can be a bit scary/difficult/shocking, but you have to be able to tell yourself it's gonna be OK, or just completely give in and see what happens. you will always come down, there's no use in worrying that. maybe now that you know how intense it can be, you can be better prepared and take mind set and physical setting more into account. sounds like you got plenty of visuals anyways "the moon letting off bright green rays of light and these tree branches were following me wherever i went. and the stars looked like they were falling down"
1) Take mushroom on an empty stomach (fast for 4-6 before ingesting). You want the magic to shotgun into your system so you come up fast and peak nicely with lots of visuals and body buzz. If you have a full stomach then the magic filters in slowly and your trip is slow and never really hits a climax. 2) Don't mix other substances with the mushroom though Terrance Mckenna always liked to smoke pot when he was peaking. I recommend you stay away from alcohol and tobacco though. 3) Try a more relaxed setting and don't walk around so much. Find a nice lawn chair next to a camp fire and just gaze into the embers watching the purple and blue sparks swirl and form shapes and patterns as they rise into the sky. Also some good tunes can really help.....so pack your ipod with some tribal beats. I try to plan my trip so I don't have to get up during it..... I like to sit in a comfy chair and just soak up the universe.
For a first trip it sounds like a good experience. It seems like you handled well the difficult part of the trip, which is very good to me. I think you should keep experimenting, as the psychedelic experience (visuals and whatnot) goes deeper and stronger with every trip. Mushrooms are tricky too, one time you can have a good, mellow trip and the next be smashed and drop on your knees crying out loud, and use the same dose both times.
grainpsilo, i find it a bit odd that you like to remain seated for the ENTIRE trip. maybe that would work alright with mushrooms though, as they seem to make me want to lay down, and make it hard to move around on larger doses. i'm more experienced with LSD and 2ce, wish are both good for laying down with music, but i also love to go walking or hiking around. i guess if you want the trip to get really deep though, the best way might be to stay still and only focus on one thing. i'm not as comfortable taking mushrooms as i am LSD. mushies still scare me a bit.
