So, I just had a pleasant conversation with an officer of the law...

It all started a while back... I'm sure I mentioned tossing the census papers into the fire the first time they showed up...

Then a week or so passed and a second person showed up to check to see why they hadn't recieved my papers.... and they got told I wouldn't participate and they should get off my property, and if they didn't like it, they should inform the authoritites and have me charged...

Earlier today, just as we were getting ready to make a run to the dump, the third person (actually two this time) showed up to 'help' me fill out the forms, as I obviously didn't understand that I HAD to do it...

They got told the same thing, and when she pushed, I pushed back (both, figuratively speaking of course) and told her that we had already established I wouldn't fill out the forms and therefore she had no job to do here and as I had told her she wasn't welcome, she was now a trespasser.

She said, "We'll be back, WITH the authorities" and left...

We went to the dump, (passing them on the way while they called the cops sitting up at our corner).

On our way back, we were pulled over by an unmarked car and approached by a cop.

I asked if this was about the census stuff, he said yes, but I'm not here to be big brother, I'm just here to keep the peace.

I said, I told them I won't participate and to have me charged if they didn't like it, and the only way there wouldn't be peace is if they trespassed on my property again.

He assured me they wouldn't, followed me back home (seems like a moron I had left my wallet here), checked my DL to make sure I wasn't a fugitive.

I explained why I am against the census in the first place, and he said he could understand that, and had no issue with that one way or another as it was a federal issue not a provincial one...

We shook hands, and he went on his way with assurances that they would not return.

 

nice to hear about a reasonable cop once in a while. he was probably pissed off that they made him drive out there for that.

 

well, I was thinking about that... Imagine what would happen if even 50% of the people did this... As it is now, the census takers would come out, be refused, call the cops, theyd come out, with the workers waiting... after it was done, they'd go do the next house or two, have it happen again, call the cops... etc etc...

how long would it be before the cops told them to fuck off? lol

 

Just got another script for 100 xanax bars for $25. Also paid a little more of my probation fine, so it's been a good day, so far.

 

oh, and I learned something today too...

Did you know its the homeless's fault that they aren't counted?

If they want to be counted, they just have to stay in a recognized shelter on Census day and they will be counted... and if they don't do that, it's not like the census bureau can be blamed...
