I am looking for some place to meet & chat with other people with chronic pain and long term pain management issues. Any body know where I can find this. I've joined several forums and all it is is a bunch of idiots buying and selling their meds. Thanks for any help.
the stoners lounge has a bunch of us chronic pain people....their is also an opiate lounge[search] also...you just posted a thread in about the right place
imma CPP, in PM, i do not buy or sell drugs, nor anyone else on here that i have seen, u might get one noob here and there.....we discuss everything here, from aches and pains, procedures, types of meds, dosages, price of meds from the street to someone who has no insurance, harm reduction, how to get the most out of your meds, comparison between meds, Route Of Administration (A.K.A ROA). I have never really posted in any of those other threads, im not interested in a bunch of people who think they are doctors, giving advice about health issues, I'm More into the info the dr wont tell you, the things that have to be researched out by US!!!!!!!!! so welcome to the forum and i hope you enjoy!!!!! !
Great post PC and I concur 100%. You'll find several CPPs here and none of us fall into the catagory the OP mentioned in his starting post. We've put together some good guys here who are always looking for better ways to manage our pain levels. We are serious about our pain management here but we also like to have some fun as well. Welcome to the forum, ask your questions, you wont be ignored.
Well thank you all very much. Seems like I finally made it to the right place. I didn't mean to include the people on this site when I spoke of buying & selling their meds. I meant almost everyone on the last 4 or 5 sites I had been to. It cracked me up to go to a forum titled "Chronic Pain Forum" and out of over 500 threads probably only about five even addressed chronic pain issues & by about the third comment it had switched to buying & selling again. Amazing. So I am very glad to have found this place and I am looking forward to getting to know and chatting with some of you. I'm pretty tired right now but I'll be back on after while and I'll post more of a formal introduction of myself now that I've found some place worthy of even taking the time to do such a thing. Thanks again everyone. I hope you all have a pain free day today (at least part of the day) and God Bless. Wow. I take the Actiq Fentanyl Suckers for breakthru pain, and I laid it on my nightstand while I was having a smoke and I just looked over and my kitten who's about 6 or 7 weeks old, had knocked it off on the floor and was licking the mess out of it. I'll have to watch her & make sure she's breathing ok. I don't suppose it would take too much of a 600mcg sucker to affect her little lungs. Just what I need, a dope feine kitten, huh. Lol. That probly woulda made a cute picture but I wanted to get it away from her as soon as possible. Anyways, I got to get some sleep now that it's daylight out. See ya & thanks again.
ftr...i too am a cpp...i do not take pills of any kind...unless i am hungover and then i take an aspirin....i only smoke weed for dealing with my pain...a lot of weed...a lot of good weed...which is why i am rarely in this forum....i am over in the chat thread of the stoners lounge...come and say hello over there...we have a kid there that knows more about taking pills than most drug companies..his name is topnotchstoner
You are part of a seriously growing number of people who fight their pain using pot. I found it quite interesting when i first started looking it up. If I could do it leagally, I would have surely given it a much harder look but I havent really smoked any pot since I joined the Navy at 19. If Florida ever leagalizes it for medicinal purposes Ill be first in line.....!
In the Opiates subforum (in which you have posted this), there are about 4 or 5 regular chronic pain members, and 3 or 4 (of which I am one of) people on Suboxone. All of us are dedicated to legitimate pain relief and/or legitimate abstinence from opioid abuse. However, like other forums, there are a flood of posts that concern opioid abuse. Stay for awhile and get to know some of us who actually are trying to improve our lives. It is really easy to spot who is in that category. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. We are pretty relaxed. While I am not a PM patient, I take Suboxone off-label for treatment-resistant bipolar depression, and I study mathematical pharmacology in graduate school, so I can answer a lot of questions related to opioids even though I just take Suboxone. Check out my Sticky thread at the top of the sub-forum page for my 'review' of all of the major opioid options out there today. It is geared towards people using them legitimately, not as a guide for abusers.
Hi, I just joined this forum and I have been in Pain Management for 14 years. Before going any further, I have to say something to Big Jim. Please ask your Doctor to get you off the Actiq ASAP! I know, I know - it works really well. As a mater of fact, it's probably the most effective pain reliever I have ever taken. HOWEVER, you will lose your teeth. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. I was on Actiq for a little over a year and have lost all but 4 of my teeth. The 4 remaining teeth will be fixed and used as part of a bridging system for my lower denture. I have no teeth left on top. Fentanyl, in lollypop form, attacks the teeth below the gum line. In other words, by the time you realize there's a problem, it's too late. I know that Actiq has been reformulated since I used it and I believe it no longer contains sugar. It doesn't matter. It's the fentanyl that does the damage. I have since switched a Fentanyl patch (100mcg/every 48 hours). It's a great base line for pain and I use oxycodone for break through. This is a great combination and I have truly learned to "manage" my pain. Without meds, I am useless. I had a bad accident in 1997. Since then, I have had over 50 procedures on my cervical spine, including 3 major surgeries. I have 2 rods, 3 plates, a cage and a lot of screws holding my neck together. My last surgery involved removing the previous hardware and replacing it with the above hardware. I asked the surgeon for the plate he removed and I made it into a bracelet. I figure that it was inside me for 10 years and I should have it with me forever. Anyway, I've been at this a long time and tried a lot of different things for pain. I'm here to learn and help, if I can.
Fentanyl does make people lose teeth. A friend of mine liked chewing on Fentanyl patches and he lost a few of his. I would advise people to never do it, just slap that bitch on! Likewise smoking H also has a similar effect on your teeth from what I've heard. Hi Razookelly, pleasure to meet you.
thx razooo. wow thats good to know for future reference. I'm glad to meet all of you new members. It seems most of the idiots and assholes no longer chill in the opiate section of hip forums. The regulars now (ETK, Bottle, PCHOP, oxy420) are all really nice people IMO.
Thanks for the warning razooo, but unfortunately it's too late (well not totally) but I've lost the very rear two molars on top and bottom on both sides already and the next molar on all four corners is coming out surgically the middle of next month and half of my front uppers need serious work after that. I kinda suspected the actiq but wasn't sure. What about fentora. It's like the actiq but in a small effervescent type of pill form. I guess if it's the fentanyl itself and not sugar it probably wouldn't matter. I can get the fentora if I want it's just a $50 co-pay where the actiq is only $5. I'd pay the difference if it meant keeping my teeth. Thanks again for the info.
I don't know if this is the right place to post this or not. I have been in unbareable pain since a car accident a few years ago. Have injuries to my neck and back. Been through PT, have a home TENS unit take anti inflammatory ( doesn't do a thing) muscle relaxants ( help some) and percecet. I have had ephdural injections to my neck and lower back, and facet blocks to lower back ( lumbar ). Had good results to my neck but they don't last long. Used to help some to my lower back but not any more. My pain management doc is going to do somethingcalled a raido frequancy ablasion RFA to my lower back. It is supposed to burn the nerves which scrambles the nerves signals from going to my brain. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this done. Did you find it helpful or not? I am tired of my whole life being about reducing pain. I used to be an active person till the accident and now I can't do much of anything. I have never had an exact diagnosis execpt that I have a hearniated disk in lower back, buldging disks in my neck. Doctor said I also have degenerative disk disease and facet syndrome. Any information about how effective the RFA are would help. Actually any advice at all would be apprciated. I am not asking anyone to be a doctor or anything. The only thing I had before the accident was seriousmigration headaches which became worse after the accident. I have also done things like eliminate all red meet from my diet to see if that makes any difference and other holistic remidies. Didn't help much.
