So, like last year I ditched my shoes. Today marks the completion of 7 weeks of being permanently barefoot. Love it. Today is wet and 61 degrees, don't love that. O well.
If you ditched your shoes last year (at least 16 weeks ago) and you've been barefoot 7 weeks, what about the initial 9 weeks?
How can you not strolling barefoot on warm rain-soft surfaces? Oh. Wait. Chocolate and vanilla. Never mind.
Longhair, its a really nasty winter here so bought shoes for that. then they were gone this spring. Nice math though. The term "like last year" would indicate that as I did last year I did such and such.
or you can generally say it gets nasty anywhere farther north or south away from the equator. Even right now, last week of june, it still gets to as low as 55-60 degrees in Minnesota. which I dislike. but what can you do, right?
Well, that's a funny thing too. I find it's easier at the end of the summer to deal with 50 - 60 degrees and rain than it is in the spring. I think it's cause I am holding out as long as I can.
Hillman, I'd love to hear more stories. Is your work okay with BF? Is it a conscious decision to walk out of the house BF? Or is it just natural? Can you give me some of the regular place that you been to on a normal day?
Well, I basically "work" from home so barefeet are not an issue. When I tossed the shoes it was on my mind when I left the house barefoot, especially at first when it was in the 50 60 degree range and more so when it was raining and cold. Now, when i go out I am still conscious of leaving barefoot but in the good way in that I'm thinking that it feels good and is ok. I go wherever I have to run normal errands. The bank, newsstand, wine shop, sometimes Dunkin D's, malls, grocery store, sometimes the hardware store, etc. I've been into NYC a few times, but so far not on the subway yet this year since someone seems to insist on driving in and dealing with the hassle of finding parking. Sometime this summer that will change when I take a train in. Last year when I did the city and used subways my feet got pitch black....no real surprise there.
I can't ditch my shoes because of the work I do. I got off work Sunday morning and have been to the supper market twice and the park. I am now off to the gas station, coffee shop and supper market again, barefoot of corse.
Ooh. I'm possibly going to San Fransisco with my Choir next spring. (Or L.A., New York, New Orleans, Houston or Chicago.) I'm hoping it's decently barefoot friendly.
Unfortunately I might have to be sticking around my choir at all times, and probably won't have a free roam-around time, but thanks for the hospitality!
