Meditation is concentrating on one thought to calm the mind. Counting breaths is an excellent way and is the first recommendation when teaching the mind. Daydreaming is not meditation because your mind is all over the place when daydreaming. A simple mantra or counting your breathing is them most widely used technique to beging to learn how to meditate.

Huh, I thought daydreaming was letting go!~? LOL I think that daydreaming is so letting go its like dreaming during the day...
It seems to me that mantras are work, your continually trying to focus, and perhaps during a meditation your not trying to focus? I do try and do focus meditations but I think i may have enough focus.
The only time I see "amore" my guide, is when I am relaxed enough to let go of feelings and only feel greatful for the moment. Usually I am just trying to enjoy the moment and letting go of things that hold me down like work. It is when I do what I feel like is when I see her most. Do you think this means I should be living more like I want to and feel like doing?

hmmmm.... you have a spirit guide named, "Love?" lol well isn't that interesting.

I find that when I meditate I usually just relax until I fade out. I don't use mantras or following breaths either. I feel like there's just so many ways of meditating and breaths and mantras may work better for people who have trouble relaxing their minds. There's no wrong way to meditate.
I feel like Im in a constant state of meditation. Has anyone ever experienced anything like that? I have a retail job and I just feel so aware of every step, color and sensation all the time. I've always felt so in touch with nature. I find it really easy to meditate next to a stream or on a rock. I love the wind. I close my eyes and I feel like I get taken away with it.

The tasteful arrangement of nature is conducive to a tranquil mind.

Meditation is heightened awareness of every moment, as in being in the now. Now, this very moment, is the only reality. It's the reason why one should always acknowledge one's earthly existence. Every single moment of one's life is real. Since we're still in the body, we must work-out our Chakra system. Each psychic muscle tells something about us. At any rate, every past experience is incorporated in the now; however, the future doesn't exist. Daydreaming? It's a label, and it all depends on what you're daydreaming about. Sometimes we label hopes, needs, and desires as daydreaming.

Btw, about that quote: the now doesn't stand still. A person's mind, when it's in normal mode, is simply not capable of handling the non-stop info. Besides, it's only in the past if you see it as such, or until it's fully satisfied, complete, done, defined. Otherwise, that particular stimulus is still an ongoing reality.

    For me:-
Day dreaming, is to focus on a wish, a goal, an aspiration
Meditation, is to clear one's mind of all things, and then any visions forthcoming will be au natural
    :)
