1 Tie between Wide Spread Panic and Shpongle, hard choice since it's totally different types of music.

    2 Grateful Dead

3 Too many to choose from

    Salutations,'72.

Right;the best BAND I ever saw live were Queen.
Absolutely pitch-perfect,and Freddie could REALLY work a stadium into a frenzy.

The best ARTIST I ever saw was David Bowie.
The man had a magnetism about him when on stage-even solo.

I would've liked to see T Rex in their heyday as I knew Marc Bolam at school.
Something about the way he wrote stuff just 'jelled' with me.

I'd like to see Hugh Lawrie [the actor who plays 'House']
I really like his take on Delta Blues.

But,far too many to REALLY knock it down to a short list..

    1. String Cheese Incident

    2. If I had to pick just one, it would of course be The Grateful Dead but tied for a close second would be Janis, Jim and Jimi.

    3. .... *having a brain fart* ... I'll get back to ya on that one!

    :)

    This is a great thread!

    1. Prince - He came to SA for the tour where he did his "hits" for the last time. We paid for nosebleed tickets, and since we bought them on the first day that came out, he moved everyone to his pit...I was three feet from him the entire show and it was magical!

    2. Toss up between Led Zeppelin and Parliament Funkadelics (the Mothership Connection tour)

    3. Radiohead or Sade

Of all the bands i've seen live the ones that sounded, not performed, but sounded the best were.

    The Beastie Boys
    The Offspring
    Cake
    Korn

I've never been a fan of cake but i was very impressed how they were live. Everything was clear with no backdrop album playing going on.

    1. Eric Burdon with War, This was his "Spill the Wine" era, I also just saw him with the new Animals and he still has it. He is an over powering stage presence, a commanding voice.

    2. The Beatles! Hendix is a close second, then the Doors with Morrison and Janis Joplin with Big Brother, almost saw Joplin but she died right before she was going to appear at a college I was attending.

    3. Van Morrison, "Van The Man" need I say more?
