I happen to love Isaiah, Monkey Boy...so many verses I've learned, and clung to, one might say, during "special" (horrible) times...I could always feel some comfort.

I want to say another favorite passage. :)
Romans 8:28 (KJV) "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to who are the called according to his purpose."

The Good Samaritan parable. Which has already been posted.

The Tower of Babel bit, for all the wrong reasons...Wanna make a massive multi-cultural nation and enter Heaven directly? DENIED! I SMASH YOUR TOWER AND MAKE YOU SPEAK IN TONGUES!

Jesus tipping over a table and being nice to a old lady bit, you know the one. Jesus was such a renegade. I bet he wore a leather jacket.

The thing that isn't apparent in the story is the cultural relevance of it. At the time Samaria and Samaritans were considered to be the lowest scum by other Jewish communities. The fact that the Samaritan helped the other person who most likely despised Samaritans is really the powerful part of the message.

Imagine a black man (the Samaritan) in 1930 Georgia stopping to help a KKK guy in robe and hood that just burned a cross on the black guys lawn and you get a better understanding of the import of the parable.

Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord, children, a reward… Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons… Happy is the man who has filled his quiver with them” (Psalm 127:3-5)

I found this on a book mark when I was going thru a real rough period in my life and can never get thru reading it without crying lol..."Come to me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your soul for my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

(sorry I don't know much about the bible. i was raised on catechism)

for me my favourite passage in the bible, at least one of them is John 14: 1 - 7 "Let not your heart be troubled, for you believe in God you also believe in Me.In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, i would have told you. And I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you to Myself; that where Iam, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know." Thomas said to him, " Lord, we do not know the where You are going, and how can we know the way?" Jesus said " Iam the way, the truth and the light, no one comes to the Father except through Me. If you had know Me you would have known My Father also; and from now on you have known him and seen Him."

that is just one of favourite passages in the Bible.
