I am watching horror/thriller movies and it made me wonder just why do women squeal like stuck pigs when they are scared but the men don't? what is the answer?
Could it then be said to be a pretty annoying gender role? That being said, the tough guy gender role seems to be only the other side of a coin. Something in between a squealing pig and a motionless rock, would make for good characters as well as good movie-going company for me. But, lemme stop being fussy.
Some women are screamers, some men are screamers I'd say in the case of horror movies it is for dramatic effect.
1. stereotypes 2. to get a reaction from the audience Women are actually more likely to freeze up instead of going into fight or flight -- but that doesn't translate to screaming; and both scare about the same, but men aren't as likely to admit it.
how else you going to get the cops to come, if you dont do a little pig calling.. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnTUV5mKypY&feature=related
is a "stuck pig" a pig that has been stuck, as in stabbed with a sharp object, or a pig that is stuck, as in wedged into an immovable position? i suspect it would squeal quite a bit in either case.
I should imagine it is because women would be far more likely to seek help when under threat rather than fighting that threat themselves. Especially heavily pregnant ones or ones with small children. It's a warning signal or help call. I ususally just freeze up though
