I wasnt even around when marilyn died...but i've been researching her a lot lately. I was reading her wiki a few days ago and i just almost started to cry...because she sounded so much like me...which is why i felt so drawn to her and jayne mansfield(that's a different story lol). I just think she was a beautiful person with a big heart..not a dipsy dumb broad who slept around. I think she had a lot of problems...which today could easily be solved with a prozac and a threesome. She would be 85 years old if she had lived....probably have joe with her and lots of grandkids. That's the life she deserved...not to die cause a president didnt want the world to know his dick was wandering.

I'm just tired of people bitching and moaning and talking about what a wasted genius Cobain was when he wasn't. I could start a long rant backing up my opinion but it is too early in the morning and my coffee hasn't fully kicked in yet since Cobain quoted the most cliched Neil Young line "It's better to burn out, than to fade away," in his suicide note I'll use a more appropriate Neil Young quote to sum it up:

"I've seen the needle and the damage done,
A little part of it in every one,
But every junkie's like a setting sun."

Nothing in itself, but maybe being sad can act as fuel for contribution...

Well, I'll just start by saying that my post was about Britanny Murphy, not Kurt, but on that subject, yes, he was a slob and a junkie, but it doesnt mean that he wasnt a great artist. A walking god, a prodigy, maybe not, but it doesnt mean he didnt do great things musically.

that's true she DID do Lou-Ann! Oh Brittanny

    ^^She also did Bobby.

I think the last one to go that effected me was George Carlin. That was when I realized that all of my heroes Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Frank Zappa, Bill Hicks and finally Carlin all men who found great humor in uncomfortable truth were gone and that nobody is doing that anymore.

I was with Mr Rogers and George Carlin.

It really pisses me off that death makes a celebrity more popular

Marilyn was a political activist and was secretly very smart...she even had good opinions on the cuban missile crisis. But back then people only seen her cause she was the stereotypical hollywood blonde(she was actually a natural brunette)....joe loved her and saw her for her. He even laid flowers at her grave for 20 years after her death(until he got alheixmers).

Dorothy Dandridge was on drugs cause hollywood treated her horribly and casted her as maids and mammies. Plus she had a little girl with one of the nichols brothers and that baby turned out to be mentally retarded....which drove her to drink.

The only celebrity's death I was ever genuinely upset about was John Ritter.

Hunter S. Thompson's and George Carlin's got me upset.

A celebrity death that got me really thrilled was Jerry Falwell.

I was sad when Carlin died.

But I know deep down.. I know that he's down there, right now, screaming up at us. And I think he's in severe pain. :)
