Sorry, Mr. stinkfoot, but I can't parse any of what you just wrote.

My question is how famous was this guy and why
and if the answer is, because he shoved a toy car up his ass, that's a sad comment on our modern life.

He was a celebrity, his death gets attention. If you want attention when you die, become a celebrity; you silly prick.
He didn't kill him. The guy was drinking with him and got in a vehicle with him. They both killed themselves. And it was stupid.

    As pointless as your hatred.

Pretty famous. And cause he entertained people and made them laugh.

He had a new show that premiered the week before the crash that was about attempting to recreate famous movie stunts.

We get and understand your feelings. Whether or not you consider the show, "Jackass" to be worthy entertainment is beside the point.

So- parse this if you will... posting your negative and judgmental points of view in this particular discussion will most certainly be seen as hateful by those who would want to post here. The man was a celebrity and people are to be free to comment here without being assaulted with hateful diatribes about the state of humanity. Cease, please.

Like I said, I understand where your coming from. We just have conflicted views on the subject. Its not right to call him an asshole as he was a pretty nice guy. I admit I didn't know him personally. And once again you are making comparison to some kind of criteria that defines losses as important or un-important. He didn't compose music, he didn't found a business, but he did make millions laugh along with his cast members.

He didn't plow into a mall full of people, he didn't hit any joggers, side swipe cars or kill children. Anyone who goes to the mall, jogs or has their children on the side of a freeway at three in the morning is taking their own risks in my book. Yes it was a stupid choice to make, and irresponsible is the first word that comes to mind. I just think that bludgeoning the dead because of choices they made is not only pointless, its actually harmful. What do you plan to accomplish? 'Whoo-hoo make people hate on the dead guy for drinking and driving. Maybe if I do that people will stop doing it and I can save a few lives with my 'flawless' logic. Maybe they will grow up mentally by a certain age, and act in accordance with everyone else'. The individuality, rebelliousness and the dynamic difference in their tastes in humor is why so many average people love the cast of the jackass series.

You say you feel sorry for me, as though it puts me underneath you. Which I'm sure it does judging from your other opinions. Ryan Dunn wasn't a stupid person, he was a good person who made bad choices and did stupid things. We all make bad choices. Some of us don't make bad choices on that level, but some of us do. If you want to verbally punish the dead for something after their dead be my guest friend, won't do you any good. He made me laugh, that's enough to make me a bit sad when he dies. No matter how he went. If he crashed and burned, well I can't see any more fitting death to a Jackass than that.

What do you call someone who gets extremely wasted and then drives a car at more than double the speed limit? I do believe "asshole" fits. VERY much. It was not a "one off" occurrence or a mistake, he had a LONG history of not giving a shit who he could have killed on the road. He did something criminal with a VERY good chance of KILLING people. That's asshole behaviour.

However, in so doing, he brought a cancer upon modern culture.

Only because of the incredible luck other people had. You know how many people are killed by drunk drivers every single month? But wait - okay wait, so people who are hit by drunk drivers are "asking for it"? How about this. The person who drinks to excess and then gets behind the wheel of a car, and at double the legal limit he would have been staggering - is at fault.

I've got a few more: inexcusable, criminal, irresponsible, juvenile, and fucktarded.

You know, whatever happened to it being a good thing to have judgment and being discerning about things? Do you know what would have happened back in my day if someone had come to a TV network with a show that could best be described as "we make fun of fat people and dwarves, beat each other up, and shove toy cars up our asses"? They'd have been thrown out or locked up. And Brandon Margera, disrespectful little punk that he is, would have had his grill thoroughly rearranged for him within five minutes. He would have been a pariah, not a millionaire.

And what I'm trying to say is this. The fact that people find it anything other than pathetic to watch a bunch of guys in their 30s throwing themselves down a hill in shopping carts or literally swimming in shit is saddening. Greatly saddening.

Absolutely not. I'm not judging you - I'll judge you based on your actions, and I know of none to comment on. I do know however how Mr. Dunn died, and I don't give a shit what others thought of him, he was a fucking asshole and his friends were even bigger ones for not taking his keys. My comment was just that I'm sorry you had to grow up at such a time as when disrespect to society and your parents (and I'm not talking about flipping the bird to an overly authoritarian "man", I'm talking about slapping your generally amicable and liberal dad around on TV just because it's supposedly "funny") is a LAUDABLE trait that makes these degenerates millions.

Think about this. If Ryan Dunn had listened to April Margera rather than doing the usual Jackass/Viva La Bam "hurr durrr stupid bitch what does she know durr" he'd be alive. And not died screaming in agony as he inhaled flames.

Stupid IS as stupid DOES. What redeemable feature about this cretin can you relate? Apparently the stupid shit couldn't even figure out that you're supposed to BATHE or SHOWER regularly.

Having too much ice cream is a "bad choice".
Raping someone is not. It's a criminal act.
Choosing to smoke is a "bad choice".
Getting wrecked and driving at ludicrous speeds is a criminal act. It's beyond a "poor choice". It shows a level of immaturity, emotional retardation, and a literally criminal lack of giving a shit about anyone on Earth, even himself.

But then again that's Jackass and Viva La Bam in a nutshell. "Fuck all y'all, I'll do whatever I want". God help us all if that's what the young people are up to these days.

No wonder they're flash mob robbing and worse.

It's hateful to rail against drunk driving or the cretinous fuckheads who do it?
What else is "negative and judgmental", calling people on raping children?

    Judgment is a good thing.
