I have a high insulin problem (not high blood sugar, just the insulin, so no, I'm not a diabetic) and the dietician I spoke to told me that I basically just need to avoid carbs and sugars to help control it. Problem is, I'm not exactly well-off, money-wise, so right now for breakfast all I eat are eggs, lowest carb/sugar cereals and oatmeal i can find and for lunches/snacks i have yogurt and cheese sticks and lunch meat with soft lavash bread (made with flax, oat bran, and whole grain) while dinner is mainly meats and veggies.... Can anyone give me some better options that may not be very expensive for breakfast, lunch, and snacks? By the way, tiny fridge in a crappy, run-down one-room apartment (not 1 one bedroom, one room) that does attrack roaches easily so fruits are generally out of the question... Thank you very much in advance.
