I think this is just more proof that the average American citizen (as in the 12 jurors on this heinous case) is an IDIOT. In my small family, we agree that the average American shouldn't even be allowed to vote, and most certainly this case proves to me they shouldn't be jurors either!

How in the absolute hell those people could sit there and watch that arrogant, smiling or grinning murderer with her "new ink" (getting the "new ink" just as the toddler was being reported missing by her grandmother) and find her not guilty is incomprehensible to me.

I sincerely hope she meets up with some people that feel the same way I do about women that murder their children.

LOL - I might know you could figure a way to lighten my mood a wee bit on this...I will admit I came here to HF specifically to read vents and do some venting myself on this case AND this awful miscarriage of justice.

But - the real question is: where in the world is the other thread? I actually looked (not really hard, tho') and this was the only thing I saw.

Never mind orison, I went back and looked - and thing is....it seems there is just a bunch of discussion in that thread (arguing) that the procecution didn't have much to work with, bla bla bla.

I think this child was murdered by the mother and any yammering about her or whomever having to "live with that" is stupid. A person (especially a mother) that could do that to her child wouldn't be "bothered living with that". jeez

Characteristics of sociopath could be applied here....such as with Susan Smith - but at least Smith did have to go to jail, where she managed to have yet ANOTHER child with a guard there.
    yay for sociopaths, huh.

I just hope this gal runs into some special ppl that'll show her the love she showed her daughter.

unfortunately for Caylee ...the justice system is set up in a way that common sense does not prevail

    No.
I'm appalled at both the case and how much attention it got, and that the prosecutors didn't pursue negligence.
But it was the correct verdict.

I'm hoping so, MayQueen, I'm hoping.

As a very, very not good Christian in this case, I hope she never leaves the state of Fla....:D

And I, personally, do not think "justice" is found within the system.

Well for different point of view. Have you ever been convicted for something you never did ? Have you ever had a finger pointed at you because of the way you look or maybe in the wrong place at the right time ? Have you ever been accused of anything and yet were totally innocent ?

Our courts are based on factual evidence. If there were any shadow of doubt, I would hope the jury sided with me. Not side with the prosecution because the final verdict might biasly base opinion on my appearance or sketchy testimony.

Look how many the state of Texas executes that are later found innocent. Makes you even rethink the death penalty.

Here is why Americans are NOT idiots, and why YOU are. I believe Casey Anthony is indeed guilty, but there's a little thing called the FIFTH AMENDMENT. It states (since you probably are too ignorant to recall) that one is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. The case did indeed have EVIDENCE, and strong evidence, that Casey Anthony was guilty of 1st degree murder, but there was still no decisive PROOF. So by ruling the verdict NOT GUILTY, these citizens were PRECISELY following the Bill of Rights. If you're going to accuse an entire nationality of being 'idiots' then at least know what the fuck you're talking about. Otherwise you just sound incredibly ignorant. Which is my current impression of you. Ignorant.

Oh, for the days of being 16 yrs old and knowing everything...being able to throw words around, putting them together so well that I could actually fool myself into thinking I was much smarter than those older, wiser, and more educated than I. ;)
