FDR didn't get us out of the depression, Japan and Germany did. Without the war that essentially decimated much of the world's manufacturing capacity leaving only a few intact the opportunity to establish economic dominance presented itself and we had the mother of all "low hanging fruit" (corporate buzz-word for easily attained goals) to propel us out of what would otherwise have been the "new normal".

Welcome to the "new normal" 21st century style... and it took a government-enabled market swindle to make it all happen so, write a thank-you to your senators and representatives who pretend they will look out for your interests... and a special thank you to a couple of entire generations of regular citizens (including mine) for enabling that with their collective consumerism and pop culture obsessed inattention.

Agreed. I still support him in lieu of a better candidate, which I'm fairly certain the Republicans won't offer. I think I may vote for a third part next election... people say it's a wasted vote but I'd rather be honest with who I'd prefer to be president than vote for a winner.

The latest CBS News poll, just out, asked Republican voters, "Any candidate you feel enthusiastic about?"

    67% no one
    10% other
    7% Romney
    7% Bachmann
    7% don't know
    2% Cain

I don't see how any Republican can beat Obama, and that's a good thing.

No I do not support Obama. He is fake that he was some kind of left liberal is his a no party and tries to be in the center . The other party is ultra conservative.

So it is vote the ultra conservative or center conservative party. That is why the US is so fucked up.No left party , no new left party , no green party,no workers party so on.

If Bernanke says he doesn't know why unemployment is why it is, but he is a economist and a chairman on the federal reserve board of the central bank, he is full of shit.

Obama ran as a right of center candidate and is exactly the disappointing president that we got. He is at least a hundred times better than any living Republican and has my vote secured. But disappointing yes.

whether pot is legalized or not, if legalization is gonna affect my other rights, i'd rather take the chance of getting caught with it then getting caught with an illegal gun, or stolen gas, or tax evasion

I have to disagree, he ran a little left of center and shifted, but as u state he is much better than the"other" options at this point, I'm just disappointed that essentially the status quo will remain
