First off, Bipolar does exist. I have it. However, I don't blame any of my behaviors on it. So, perhaps you are simply acknowledging all of the 'fakers' and ignoring the portion of the population, like myself, that silently suffers with it, and doesn't tell anyone but their closest friends and parents about it.

Bipolar is more than mood swings. It is such a devastating disorder that I don't even know where I would begin in explaining it to you (to the OP).

But, please, for people like ME and the millions of other silent sufferers, don't call the disorder "FAKE", just acknowledge that millions of LOSERS pretend to have it in order to take responsibility away from their actions.

OK, but the new title puts a different slant on the thread though as it is not as inflammatory.
I guess that may be part of why you changed it.

I think with determination that people can improve their mental health conditions for the better as long as they do not through in the towel and give up.

an asshole is someone who treats people badly or with disrespect. if I am nice to someone and talk to someone normally that is not being a asshole. now if I talk to someone and be all cocky and act like I am better than them while talking them than sure but like I said I talk to people normally and nicely.

I guess that people who have true bi-polar where it is truly bad I consider them schizophrenic.

oh and all the people I know in real life who have bad bi-polar that I know all have schizophrenic tendencies and paranoid beliefs.

just the title was changed not the first posting. but I asked for the title change because when I made this thread I was thinking about people who use this illness as an excuse for their actions and thought that was bullcrap. I think it provides a better discussion than just bi-polar is bullcrap also.

and actually I do believe bi-polar exists. I just posted this thread without thinking to much haha. and yeah I feel bad for people who suffer from mental illness.

Rugor- perhaps I now understand what you mean. The technical diagnosis I have is Schizoaffective Disorder: Bipolar Type. I really DO experience auditory hallucinations, delusional thinking, paranoia, and such things, IN ADDITION to the mood disorder components. You would likely consider me to be 'schizophrenic' rather than 'bipolar' by your definitions.

Well say someone gets the extreme overwhelming paranoid idea that his apartment complex is out to kill him and runs down the street, would that be an excuse or (in his mind) exercising his action of caution?

Some people do use mental illness as an excuse, but that doesn't mean there aren't people going through inner struggles every day.
