    hey folks:)

well heres the thing, i have had dreads for about a year now, and i like them, but!
as the pics shows they are really puffy and not that "dready-like" and i want them to be more "gathered" and slim.

so my question to you all is, what do i do from here? how do i make them more dready-like?

    sincerely NoGain:)

(hope you can see the pics)

Why not maybe put a few beads or something in them, that tends to help round them off a bit. I think yours are really nice ^^ maybe you could put some wraps in it oo. Also, if you do decide to put beads in, you could change them round every week or so

beads helped my dreads go a bit rounder, but that's from having one bead in one place for aaaages.

crochetting them might help them to be more 'gathered', but it is very damaging, and if you over-do it they become really dry and brittle.

dude, they're over a year old. just leave em alone. if you can't handle the insecurity, cut em off.

Not sure about long hair, I've always started dreads with short hair and I end up loving them

i have been thinking about rolling them with some dread wax, so maybe that could help getting the fuzz in order?

Think again... If you want to reduce frizz try aloe instead.

Aloe vera - you can either buy a plant and squeeze out the juice, or go to a health food shop where I think you can buy gels or something, just make sure it's 100% aloe vera and doesn't have a load of other rubbish in it.

Do you have a soda can tab in your dread?

Aloe plants are dirt cheap.. I didn't like the goopiness of it, or notice much benefit but it does tame the frizzies for a bit if i am going out somewhere or something.

    What method did you use?

I was going to say they're awesome, and then I saw the wax post.... sort of wondering what else you've done to them....

Cause there's tons of ways to make them "more dread like" if you wanna be a bitch, but I thought they looked pretty cool as they are. People who don't like your hair can go fuck themselves, it's on your head, not theirs.

Just don't rip and wait another year or two, and your head will be pretty epic.

Dont but anything in your hair just wash and go! dont give up on you dreads bro its going to take a while for them to look the way you want them to just keep the faith lol and you will be glad you did. One thing you can do is pull the locs apart unto the size that you want them to be. its called ripping! good luck
