Not only is it a drug movie but deals with some moral issues i found it to be a great movie.

One of the best bits when Keitel asks the guy who deals crack for him to give him a rock and the dealer gives him a little rock and Keitel goes off at him for giving him such a tiny piece.

    Interesting movie for sure.

Go, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and most of Cheech and Chong. I know I'm leaving out a bunch that I can't remember offhand.

I used to have a few cheesy drug movies on VHS that I got in the bargain bin, but I don't remember the names. They were cool as long as you were wasted when you watched them.

im not the director's biggest fan but that was hands down his most superb movie in my opinion, and of course it's based on the Hubert Selby Jr. Novel , and his other novel Last Exit To Brooklyn Was Done Justice in it's late 80's/early 90's rendition with Jennifer Jason Leigh- althouh thr movie actually babied the ending for the moviegoersm and even in the movies , whivh are more censored than the novel ( like american psycho for instance), are not for the faint of heart! But an unflinchingly honrest look at life from so many angles, demographics , and the entire spectrum of reason for why we become NOT drug users, that's simply the nasty sympton, nasty enouh to put you in the hospitl- but the [psychology behind the plethora of CAUSES - it gave the drus context instead of glamour!!

Jennifer Jason Leigh is in a pretty good movie about two undercover narcs called 'Rush'. Jason Patric is training her and she joins his assignment, trying to catch a big time heroin dealer or something.

You guys seem to be talking about high quality, well made movies about drugs.. When I think drug movie, I just think something funny to watch while high involving drugs.. So,

    clerks
    half baked
    puff puff pass
Harold and kumar go to white caste
tenacious d and the pick of destiny
airplane (no drugs, but still one of my favorites when I'm high)
fear and loathing in las Vegas
    reefer madness
    pineapple express
up in smoke (Jesus.. I almost forgot that one)
I'm gonna throw that 70's show in here for fun..
    Dazed and confused

I am fully aware that many of those are not high quality cinema, but my taste in movies is watered down quite a bit after a few bong hits..

Harold and Kumar excluded, right? :afro:

WTF?! I Just realized we're on the fourth page and no one said How High?

That's the best stoner comedy, best black comedy, and best out-of-place-hip-hoppers/squares comedy!
