Who wants to come with? I've been planning on living in the wild since I was about thirteen. I'm now nineteen. Certainly - I haven't had enough time to completely educate myself about everything there is to know about the wild. However, I have studied enough that I feel confident enough to go forward with a big attempt. Last year I did almost three months in Alaska. I was definitely swayed a bit by "Into the Wild" but during late summer/fall it is a great state to just get away from it all. I haven't completely decided yet but, it looks like I'm aiming for British Columbia this time. I was in contact with a fellow who gathered a group up and he headed out that way March of this year. It's a colder climate. During the winter the temperature has not been recorded to drop under -7 F. During the summer climate is 55-70. There is fresh water a plenty and it isn't too far from some good salt-water. I have a few other places in mind - two that I've seen personally, and I think they are viable but pose more risks. They are warmer. I don't really have any joy in life - so I want to life live to the fullest. I really enjoyed my time in Alaska. It's not that I'm unhappy but, the world as it is - so obsessed with material items, sex, money - it saddens me. I'm not a religious person and I'm agnostic. I have about 70% of the specifics already nailed. I won't go on this trip alone. I have lived alone since I was 16 and there is very little enjoyment to your experiences if you don't have anyone to share them with. I will not judge you based on appearance, race, sex, beliefs, etc. All I ask is that you be honest with me. I don't need any troublemakers hanging around. If we don't succeed - well we come back. I'm not looking to go commit suicide either. Although I know how to handle pretty well without equipment - it would be senseless not to take some things if I can. I've already bought most of and can buy the rest of the helpful equipment. I plan on leaving somewhere in the next four to six months. My email is nicocharondo@yahoo.com. I invite anyone to join me. If you just want to "try it out" and your prone to leaving within the first few weeks - please don't come. If your seriously interested in trying - shoot me an email and we can talk. Time is something I definitely have. -Nico
that sounds amazing! i would love to join you, but i start college next month...and i kinda need to do that ya know. i wish you the best of luck nico
i've wanted to do what you're proposing for a while now, but i always get ancy to keep traveling. where in alaska were you may i ask? i was there all of last traveling all over the state. as much as i'd love to do that in alaska/canada - tropical climate seems more realistic/appealing to me, where i could grow fresh veggies/fruits year round and not have to deal with winters
