haha I am a HUGE Eminem advocate- his journey is fascinating and so human and is victory in these past 2 years is absolutely humbling and a he is a true inspiration.

I'd reccommend you try some Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Talib Qualei (sp? on last name?), Wu Tang ( I'm particularly partial to Rza)

Now I do find some of the harder rap important, but for a reason, because it exposes the grit of a reality that many have never experienced, and it's important to acknowledge it does exist- David Banner is interesting b/c his beginning CDs are really raw, and nowadays he has become ENTIRELY 180 degrees different and has become a positive role model community. And I love the struggles you hear within certain rap artists like Bone Thugs and Whatnot. But to hear the courseness within harder rappers who never change their message admired because they are "cool" by people instead of taken as a serious indiction of the conditions out of which the CULTURE OF ANGER & VIOLENCE BEING DISCUSSED in the hardcore rap is being created and WHY, is something I cannot stomach.

Check out anything by Currensy, Tyler The Creator, Domo Genesis, Smoke DZA, The 6th Letter OFWGKTA, and Kendrick Lamar.

    As far as songs go-
    I Do It- Big Sean
    Run This- Kid Ink

oh for sure. i love mos def, talib kweli and wu tang. some other good underground rap is jedi mind tricks, aotp, binary star, non-phixion, apathy, celph titled and doap nixon.

i just don't listen to much that's mainstream. some of that may be positive rap and some of it may be sort of violent too but i like the mixture. just some good underground rap i enjoy.

Good mainstream hiphop does not exist.

Those artists you just named are not artists, they are a symbol for the masses. Sellouts for corporate bullshit.

Underground is where its at, and a lot of people hear can help you go in that direction if you are still interested.
