I quit using facebook for several months awhile back because I was using it excessively, but I eventually came back to it though I no longer feel like I use it like an addiction anymore. I don't use my real name on my facebook and I don't post about any illegal activity really... I have family that I keep in contact with via facebook and I'm sure they don't want to hear about my drug habits. It is a great way to keep in contact with old friends, though.

I'm not sure if hipforums is much different though. I mean if the CIA or whoever was really interested in what you were doing they could easily figure out you username and search through your posts here.

I remember back in 1999 I was on probation when I was a juvenile and not supposed to leave the city without permission. I had posted on a rave forum that I was going to a rave and what I was wearing, etc., they used this information to violate me and I ended up in juvie. =/ If you use the internet, no matter what the site, you can be monitored if someone wishes to.

Facebook is a pain in the butt... you get all kinds wanting to be your friend?? a friend is someone you see all the time... have lunch..go dancing.. the movies..ect... facebook friends consist of a nutter that likes the look of you... become your friend so he can show off he has a nice looking girl on facebook he is friends with.. but thats it you never get a message from them again!!!!! silly school yard stuff

Hell yeah.

They want everybody to be on it because despite what they tell you, your page is not private. If the goverment or your local PD wants they can look at anything and everything about you. A source that is updated daily with the most minnior information down to where you are for lunch right now, and the people with you. Who really needs to know this?

There are already cases of police hacking facebook and looking at a suspects page to find out their location.

When it comes to computers, if it can made it can be broken. Nothing is safe from a hack or the wrong eyes. And when you consider facebook sells that same info, you see how untrustworthy they are.

If you have an Iphone,smartphone,etc and use FACEBOOK you might not believe this,BUT YOU SHOULD!!!!

1) Click Account (upper right)

2) Click Edit Friends (upper right)

3) Click Contacts (upper left,icon of a phone)


And see if in the list all your Facebook friends AND all your non-Facebook friends are not shown with all the telephone numbers from your Smartphone!

A friend said SHE DID NOT AUTHORISE THEM TO COLLECT THIS INFO!! (I told her she should wake up and get off that piece of trash (In a nice way))
