Okay, in my natural state I am either spacey and can't focus on anything at all, or my mind is racing, this lead to all throughout school people labelling me pot head or things like that. It is weird, I will smoke and it will take will put me in the moment where I can actually focus on it. I can retain information better and visualize concepts a whole lot better and understand. I believe marijuana is a good aid for ADD cause of this. Math i HATE it, but when high i can really get into it. I can understand it and let it seep in.
What people often forget when espousing such cliched views from the world of cannabis discrimination is that tobacco is worse for affecting your concentration. MJ scrambles your thoughts, until you get used to it. Then it allows you to focus your mind, and look at things in ways you wouldn't otherwise. Tobacco OTOH affects your concentration because it dehydrates you. So it's OK for people to drive whilst under the influence of tobacco, but not marijuana?... it's BULLSHIT!
I have noticed I cannot focus after smoking a cigarette, I get dizzy and foggy in my head. I have quit smoking tobacco again for health concerns but yes, another newfound hypocrisy in this marijuana ban brigade. I don't get the scrambled thoughts, I get full on focus on the moment. I do think on cannabis but much clearer and better!
I used to get scrambled thoughts, well not really scrambled but kind of... what's going on, sort of thing...? But not really anymore. Now everything becomes clearer.
the best math class i ever had, we had to explain/prove the method before using it. so you werent allowed to just pull a formula out of your ass, you had to show how the formula worked first, explain WHY there are so and so boxes, discovering the method anew. that and geometry, i always liked geometry. im a very visual person.
cannabis is a tool for the human mind and you know how to use it. embrace this and forget about the uneducated minds you met at school.
Same here...was always my best subject in math. 100% in grade 7/8 geometry units (when it was the most heavily focused on) since it made the most logical sense to me and I could see real world applications for it.
math is practical in less than important areas. unless you want to get a good job and earn money... which is practical but less than important. I have personally seen two different people focus more clearly on weed than sober, on many occasions, both of which claim to have ADD or ADHD. But, limited sample size and observation...
OP I completely relate... I was labeled in much the same way. I agree weed is good for concentration but it also depends on the strain. Some strains make my concentration worse or have a bad comedown. Others will be completely the opposite.
my little cousin is on some add meds... hes 12. I wish people would think twice before putting stimulants into kids bodies.... there are "alternative" medicines (aka natural, less profitable medicines)
I think it's sad that you're turning to drugs to help your ADD. Try meditation, should help you the same way
a drug is anything that alters normal bodily function. marijuana is a psychedelic drug. don't get me wrong i love smoking pot but it's still a drug and there are more natural ways to overcome disorders
The same could be said about sugar and caffeine. You could say a lot of children are high on it when they run in circles after have a coca cola. I have a hard time categorizing marijuana as a drug. Its a plant, not a bunch of chemicals grouped that were under your sink. I do get what you are saying though.
yes of course caffein is a drug! i'm not sure if sugar is classified as a drug, sure it gives you energy, but so do almonds. food in general gives you energy. caffein and sugar both come from the earth the same as marijuana does. THC is the real drug. caffein is found in coffee beans and THC is found in marijuana. asprin is another good example, it's found in trees and it's a drug
