Dear anyone knowledgeable about this subject, Let me start of by saying that the following questions pertain to my underage little brother, not me. He wants a medical card. He is fourteen years old.He is the sweetest kid you'll ever meet. He's never been arrested,in a fight, or even sent to the principals office. We have loving parents who care for us very much. Unfortunately, they are rather uninformed when it comes to Mj. He has terrible anxiety issues and asthma. He experimented with it a while back, and said that he enjoyed how it alleviated his symptoms for both conditions. You see, the hand-held inhaler isn't very good for you, and don't even get me started on the crap he takes for anxiety. He was cuaght smoking in his bathroom at our home, and it would be incredibly awkward for him to ask our parents. He says he knows of a kid his age with a medical card(dont no if its true or not). I think with there permission, he may be able to obtain a card. The only other issue is that he was recently diagnosed with a working memory deficit, and apparently weed doesn't help your working memory. According to the internet, that is. He's told me his grades went up when he started smoking, and after a careful analysis of his progress reports from school,I deem this to be true. But still, would that make it even more difficult to obtain a card, even if his parents agreed? I'm not quite sure how it all works, and any advice would be appreciated so very very very very much. At any rate, were working up the courage to talk to our parents about it. Sincerely, a concerned and brother.
Until your brother is 18, your parents will make his medical decisions. There is nothing you can do. But if they supported it, there are cases of children having cards. But the parents and the doctors would have to both be on the same page.
you gotta wait for your brother to be 18 or 21 (i believe depending on wher you live). I have family members that have a legal medical card to obtain and have/grow marijuana, but they are all over 18. Even myself who who used to have intense chronic pain and still have body pain and have talked about it with my doctors, i gotta wait to turn 18. I don't know about special cases though so i can't inform you on that.
I have seen legit news reports of people under 18 that have medical marijuana cards, I think unfocudedanakin is correct.
Sorry to hear about this problems your brother has. I've been suffering from depression maybe starting at the same age and it has been real hard for me. At the time i did not even know marijuana can help me and if i did i would have probably taken it immediately. And about your parents, maybe they can visit some of the medical marijuana despanseries in US and see how it helps people. Maybe even the personal there can give you some more info on what can be done for your brother's condition and how he can get a medical marijuana card. Also I'd like to tell you that I've read somewhere that if he takes marijuana in any shape (pill, smoke, inhale) he is not allowed to be at school by the US state laws. So have this in mind too. Good luck,
"if he takes marijuana in any shape (pill, smoke, inhale) he is not allowed to be at school by the US state laws." U.S highschool students do drugs a lot harder than marijuana lmao. I wouldn't suggest it OP, weed is not good for someone with memory problems or asthma that is still active. You may not agree with pills, but atleast his liver can take a beating... his lungs probably not.
