I about to board a flight. It is snowing at my destination. I am barefoot and on crutches with my leg in a cast. I have to walk around 700metres in freshly fallen snow. My good foot is pretty tough but I have never been barefoot in snow. I am thinking I might have to resort to my reserve flip flop but I can't see that being easy on my crutches either. This could be a challenge.

I love going barefoot on snow ( to an extent) new snow is a good textures as is snow with that layer of ice on top. You can only do it for so long before it's too much tho. One time my toes got purple  but I'm a very tactile person, which is why I love barefooting, snow is awesome, but I'd have to say mud is the best!

I agree, snow's fun for a while but mud is definitely the best - although it did get a little annoying at Glastonbury Festival this year. :)

I think it would depend on the temperature

I know myself I could do 700 meters no problem if its just below freezing but at -30 I can only bear it for about 4 minutes max before it gets too painful

30 below is possible frostbite.. Freezing mark you might be ok, I can walk pretty far barefoot in light snow...
what pisses me off is salt and cinder left on the walk when there is no snow..

It is snowing again. Have just walked across a supermarket carpark on my cruthces with my good foot bare. Slush, dirt and melting snow felt great.

Then I got home and crutched barefoot across my lawn in 20cm of fresh, soft snow. A brilliant sensation, almsot as good as mud!

Winter is a great time for amazing barefoot experiences. A bit more difficult with the crutches though.

have a great time (not too long, though) with frosty toes in floury chilly snow pals , for me im glad it's raging summer hotness here :sunny::afro: . bit sad 'cause we're falling down in flames as a nation but wtf. at least economy cannot possibly make us so poor that we cant afford to go barefoot.

We had about a foot of snow last december which hung around for a week or so (which is unusual for here). I walked around my back yard in it with bare feet to see how it felt. was a nice sensation but its not my favourite though, a bit too cold for me!

When its cold and theres a sort of dampness or condensation on the ground (not snow though) that feels nice for a bit while my feet can stand it. That makes them really black though, i guess all the dirt from the roads just sits there and gets churned up by the salt and dampness or whatever...

Just make sure not to wear metal foot jewelry when snowfooting for more than a few minutes... I know from my own slightly painful and blistering experience that it's not good.
    ;)

Wiggling bare toes, still enjoying so-called summer,
