I'm thinking about cancelling my netflix account because of this price hike.

If you don't know, they are eliminating the dvd + streaming plans so you'd have to purchase them separately (ie 1 dvd at a time for $7.99/mo + streaming for $7.99/mo = $15.98/mo, a 60% increase)

I feel like it's price gouging and a netflix rep even posted on their blog that they expect the increased price to more than make up for cancellations from customers.

I want a boycott, prove them wrong.

    What say you?

The price hikes do suck. But, I can't boycott it because we don't have cable. I'd rather pay $20 a month to get movies than pay over $100 a month for cable.

I have it and I'm cancelling, I know they probably expect it to balance out, but I'm hoping they are proven wrong.

So, what if you only stream it? Is that still going to stay $8?

Well, alright then, this doesn't affect me. Haha. I never cared to mess with the DVD thing, even though my mailbox is just up the block.

This is true. There are a lot of movies/shows I wanna watch but aren't available instant. And getting dvds, you only get so many dvds of shows at a time...aggravates me
