yay im finally pregnant but now i have to quit smoking. marijuana is my medication. I dont take pills or drink. IM a very heavy smoker. at least 5times a day. I use it for pain, anxiety, deppression, nausea, among other things. I am all for smoking (not excessivly) while pregnant for the many symptoms that come along with it but i will not be able to because what Ive got going on. What happens when my blood pressure goes up or my back flares up from the extra weight? they will just put me on pills. Well what if I want to continue to treat myself holistically with marijuana? Smoking marijuana does NOT harm babies! I cant because its illegal. Man fuck these mother fuckers who make these laws n shit. Its my body, my choice.
i actually take back that statement. There is no proof that is does. BUt regaurdless, its safer than pills. I dont even like to take asprin. I treat everything holistically
congrats on being pregnant! marijuana helps your anxiety? i've only heard that it increases existing anxiety... strange. suppose it works differently for different people
yes, it varies person to person. Im a medical marijuana patient (doesnt mean much anymore, eveyone has their card nowadays) and it helps tremendously. People say how Medical marijuana is a joke for people wanting to get high. but whether or not its true, it is a life saver for some people. I know at first it gave me slight anxiety but i got use to it. you have to be comfortable with whats going on around you and it very relaxing
My aunt smoked all the way through her pregnancy and my niece graduated at the top of her class and is now going to college to be a Doctor. So maybe you should continue smoking, lol, yah never know.
Who told you that ???? Congratulations makecakelate ...........arty: Im gonna smoke 1 for the baby.........:ssmokeit:
my roomie and i were strangely talkin about this yesterday. i didn't even know it was that safe until she mentioned it. i think i'd still feel a little guilty smoking while pregnant but that's just me. do as you please! and congrats on the bebe  haha yeah i usually tend to stay away from smoking when anxious and usually try out meditation or yoga/pilates instead. i have plenty of friends who smoked when anxious though. i wish it worked that way for me but eh its whatever
Its true...having kids is a big deal - at least it should be. Caring for another human life is nothing to take lightly...being a mother includes putting the child's needs first, which means no pot.
Reallly? So I dont care about my child if I smoke? And Im curious as to why you say this excatly. I already have a child whom I have smoked her whole life and shes a freakin genius. You should take a look at this website called moms4marijuana. very good info on this topic. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...pOT7Dw&usg=AFQjCNE5KGxqPsGzQZiZNfxaOuP1hxae3A
What about the children?? by Moms for Marijuana on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 7:27pm When it comes to marijuana and legalization, ultimately the biggest question asked is "What about the children?" That is our question too. What about our children? We feel that it is our children's future, their lives, and their world that we are jeopardizing by not utilizing this plant to the fullest. We feel very strongly that we should stop lying to our children about Cannabis and trying to scare them into staying away from it. Education and open discussion will help our children learn to stay away from drugs, not fear. We feel we can teach our children to stay away from drugs, while at the same time being honest in the education we provide. We can teach them that it is an adult decision to consume recreational drugs, and that they are allowed to make their own decisions when they become adults. We feel we can help them to make educated choices when it comes to using recreational drugs and we want our loved ones, including our adult children, to have a safer recreational choice than alcohol and tobacco. We are tired of hiding our own use, whether medical or recreational, while other parents can openly take narcotics, drink alcohol, and smoke tobacco. We feel we can teach our kids that drugs are not for children, unless the child is ill, and then, as with any medicine, you get it through the doctor. We are tired of our medicine being on the streets, instead of a pharmacy where it belongs. We feel that, if we can teach our children to stay out of the medicine cabinet or out of the beer in the fridge, we can also teach our children to stay away from of our Cannabis. We are tired of our children being arrested and locked away. We are tired of seeing the lives of our children, their educations, and their futures ruined because of their experimentation with a harmless plant. We are sickened as we watch money being stripped away from our schools while the cost of the Drug War continues to skyrocket. We are tired of being afraid that our children will be taken from us because of our use of a NON TOXIC plant. We are tired of having to justify our use, or even stop our use, because of our own fears of persecution. We are tired of feeling like the world thinks that we are bad mothers and are putting our children in danger. We are good mothers, who care about our children, and THIS PLANT IS NOT DANGEROUS! We are tired of the violence, the cost, the risks, and the inaccessibility of the black market. We are tired of contributing to the blackmarket because it's our only option available. We are tired of our children being capable of purchasing this drug because drug dealers do not check I.D. and we are tired of our children being exposed to hard and dangerous drugs because the blackmarket is the gateway, not Marijuana. We know that the Cannabis plant is NOT just about the drug found in the pretty flowers. And we feel that its other uses also need to be discussed openly, and honestly, in every possible way. We are tired of using non-biodegradable products derived from petroleum when there is a safe, renewable, biodegradable, sustainable, and versatile resource available. We feel it is time to take advantage of this valuable resource and provide our world with another crop, new "green" products, and a new source of jobs, taxes, and revenue. And we are tired of this issue being skirted around, and laughed at, by our lawmakers. We are Moms and our #1 concern is our children. We have done the research, we have analyzed all evidence, and after using logical and critical thinking, we have decided that we are Moms FOR Marijuana. And we are tired of the stereotype that surrounds the current use and legalities of this plant. But We are not just Mothers. We are everyone who cares about the future of our society, the future of our planet, and the future of our children. We are tired of the ignorance and false stigma that surrounds this plant. We feel it is time to thoroughly research and openly discuss EVERYTHING about this plant. We feel it is time to make Cannabis consumption beneficial to our society. And we are tired of being quiet about it. If you feel the same way, join us as we shout it from the mountain tops... WE ARE PROUD TO BE MOMS FOR MARIJUANA! (and Dads, and Sons, and Daughters...)
Perhaps you should read my post again. I did not say that you are or are not a bad mother. I was, in fact, giving my opinion of whether mothers in general should or should not smoke pot while pregnant - is that not what your thread was about? In regards to your link to moms4marijuana, I found some interesting information, although I did not come across anything that had to do specifically with smoking while pregnant and the possible affects on the baby. Perhaps I missed it? If so, could you please post the link to this thread - I would be very interested in reading it. That being said, I will mention that I find independent, scholarly studies have the most credibility and statistics to draw proper conclusions... Communication is key - proper and correct communication, that is. I've believe that if a child is taught to respect a drug and understand what it does, then they are less likely to end up dealing with it carelessly in the future. In my opinion, its not so much about the plant itself as it is how it interacts with the individual. People need to be responsible when taking drugs - any kind of drug, even coffee, especially if they dont know how they will react to it. You can't just tell someone 'pot isnt dangerous' - instead they should know the effects of pot (possibly without any negative or positive connotations) before using it. For example, I have seen people 'green out' on pot, as have I once, and it was a nasty experience in my opinion. I wish I had been more informed of the whole 'greening out' topic beforehand, as I got quite panicked to say the least. Same thing with smoking pot while pregnant. How much does the average person really know about its effects on a baby? We need PROPER, UNBIASED, STATISTICAL evidence. Again, maybe I missed it, or perhaps it was in the form of a link, but I didn't see any such kind of evidence on this website, which is the kind of evidence I would WANT to see before deciding whether or not to smoke pot while pregnant. It seems there are not enough proper studies done about marijuana period, so I cannot assume that we already know for sure that smoking does or doesnt affect the baby. EDIT: On a side note I should mention that I am not only questioning IF smoking can harm the baby, but if so, then by HOW MUCH? And what would it affect, exactly?
What about your unborn babies body and their choice? I understand that you use medicinally but you should really think about going without while pregnant. or at least just use in small amounts in a vapo.
It may not "harm" babies. But it WILL cause change, and I don't think i'd consider that positive. If there where benefits to pregnant pot use, we'd probly know about it. On the most basic level of argument against it, you have no right to dose another human with a psychotropic substance without them knowing and consenting. Also, smoking ANYTHING while pregnant is dumb, excessive CO/CO2 levels are not good for babies, and I believe can even cause birth defects on their own. At least, reduced birth weight, development, and overall health, especially of a circulatory nature. If you want to have a baby, it's going to change a lot in your life, and not smoking for 9 months is about the most basic, pain free part of those changes. If you're not responsible enough to recognize that, and adapt your life style, you're nowhere near responsible enough to have a child, or deal with the lifestyle adaptations that THAT will require.
It is not Just your body it is you babies body that we are all concerned about! So if you can't give your child 9 months now what are you going to do the rest of it's life? Give your child a chance and then if it wants to do drugs so be it.
