Meh. I might have to scuttle my way back to GLP then. Just wanted to hang around with weird uk folk rather than predominately weird American folk. No disrespect to my American cousins I love you all. I thought it'd be banging round here.

Methinks it is a question of timing - people on-line can be few/far between in respect of getting together - the answer is perhaps to add friends (via private message?) in order to correspond, that way in when there are events held (i.e Pagan Festivals) in a generally accessible location - North West, North East, Yorks etc, perhaps a getting together could see an opportunity to mix, mingle, muse and meditate

So do you think I'm better off hanging around the main forums then? I might just stalk the Texas forums for a while and see if I pick up the accent.

Cheers billyx! Thanks for taking the time to answer. I'm not really into pagan festivals but to be honest I'm not really sure what goes on at them. I love stone circles and nature. Is that enough to get invited along?

Well Im off to Glastonbury (no not the music festival!) village, for the August Bank Holiday Mind, Body and Soul festival
    - Though the premise may by spiritual, the environmental atmosphere is, without prejudice, open and expansive conversation and a contentment there for groups and/or the individual
Also, There is a Pagan AGM in Preston in September, where - there will be Witches, and I'm sure Magic
Along with this, there are several seminars regarding Tarot,
Clairvoyants, Positive energy thinking and natural health and healing alternative medications held in Cheshire, Derbyshire to name but a few
I guess whatever one wishes to find is out there - one only has to look
I'm old enough to remember 'back in the day' when I felt a similar aura - ah well - maybe it's me (?) and to each their own :)

People gather where there are people. Coming and seeing a place that's not all that active and then leaving it is a lazy man's option if you ask me. If you want a UK community, stick around and help to make it. It was here once, and we're trying to create it again. It takes a high enough number of Brits who are interested.

Ps. Please see the multitude of other threads asking this very question, which ironically all became very active. If only they'd started a different topic!

Thanks for the replies and interesting things to think about. So does anyone know of any Cumbrian pagan festivals worth checking out? I'm sure there's loads but yous must know which ones are worth checking out. Also finger mouse, I'm not taking the lazy mans option (even if that's what it is, or isn't..if I go to a pub in my town and it's dead I'm not going to waste my night in there hoping it'll fill up when each weekend I know it doesn't). I'd like to see this community grow myself, both on hip forum and in the real world if you know what I mean. I'm new here and I'm going to ask all sorts of questions and I'm sometimes a spongle so I'm also going to make brash and sometimes stupid statements from time to time. Bare with me! Ps I ramble (both conversationally and through the countryside), so if I seem to go off on a tangent or don't quite hit the nail on the head, be patient with me. I like it here, I just think there should be some sort of drive to get more people in the uk forum. Maybe we should find like minded people were friends with in other forums and go all out to get them to come here? Just an idea.

There is an event in Preston (a trip down the M6)
The pagan Federation North West Conference
(Maybe at such an event there may be opportinities to network?)
    See link http://www.paganfed.org/index.shtml

And - as I said before 'adding friends' may give an opportunity to liaise(?) I'll get on with it :)

    Hi - (?) (Well I'm working on it :) )
I'm not so bad looking forward to my Glastonbury trip Aug BH
It seems that there are are most things organised in the South though I feel one must go to the place where one feels most at ease
FYI See Link http://www.paganfed.org/index.shtml (if you were not aware) maybe like-minded people are out there - just more difficult to find (?) ah well - I noted to Voodooste I'm working on connections - well I can give it a go - ha - we'll see

UK forumers, much like stoats, only come out once a year on the Feast of St John the Apostle. They are rarely spotted, being camouflaged well against their native terrain, but eagle eyed observers frequently report observing them on this special day, taking water at the local pond or climbing a wooden fence and sitting pensively atop said fence, wistfully mourning the passing of the ages.

Hi folks ,im just putting a link into this thread in case it may be of some use to anyone , all the more info the better for us all i hope .

A reality friend put me onto this site last April as he was going to a small music fest advertised on this site ,a folk fest in Leicestishire {Ashby Folville}organised by the Nottingham Bikers Club.

For the 3 days camping it only cost £15 from Friday to Sunday .
{im just stating all this as its not just the big fests efestivals advertise at silly stupid gate prices ..}They cater for all ,, and not just music but also other Pagen events ,and just good folks meeting in general .

Have a skip round the link ,somewere you can subscribe free and recieve email up dates .
