I was just winding the man up with a little "my bible is bigger that your bible."

I do believe in the existence of God and as such I personally have nothing against religion(s). Where I make a stand is on allowing someone or something do the thinking for you. Everyday people take the holy scriptures of some religion or another and let someone else tell them what they mean. IE: The word of God as told and explained by men.

So here is a little history lesson of the King James Bible,

The creation of the King James bible had more to do with the Gunpower Plot than it did with God or dogma. In 1606 the Popish Recusants Act Act was passed that required citizens to take an oath of allegiance denying the Pope's authority over the king. King James was using harsh measures to control non-conforming English Catholics but if they took the oath, the were tolerated.

It was the Hampton Court Conference of 1604 where King James debated with the puritan clergy. He was strict and induced a sense of persecution amongst them; but as his reign wore on, the expulsions from livings left few. It was due to the Hampton Court Conference that a new version and translation of the was compiled from approved books of the bible.

In Scotland James further attempted to use his version of the bible to reestablish episcopacy. James's bishops forced his "Five Articles of Perth" through a General Assembly. An act that was ment to unite the church of Scotland under his rule but instead left it decided.

    In conclusion,
As previously stated the creation of King James Bible had more to do with politics than it did with God.

So what are your plans then BBAD? I've got nothing against extinctionists. They're as ripe for turning the world into a celebration as anyone else. Dunno if they'll be first to rock the mic though. lol

I try but that doesn't mean I always get it right or half the time for that matter. :)

I think that they believe it was the bubonic plague carried by fleas on rats.
well I gave it a shot.
    Probably so.

Obviously I haven't looked at every study and so, even though I try to keep up, I may not have seen the study you mention. But one of the explanations I've heard is that there is a certain amount of natural genetic variation in even closely related creatures. So even in a single petri dish it is too time consuming to check the genetics of all the bacteria in the dish and so the antibiotic may kill he majority of the bacteria leaving the relatively few that have a immunity to the antibiotic which then proliferate in the absence of their compatriots.

I've never said that there aren't mutations but I feel that every creature has a certain range of natural genetic variation which includes a certain amount of mutation but that creature can never go beyond that natural genetic variation and so can never become a "new" creature.

Well I hope I did okay for you. [IMG]

    Oops, never mind. [IMG]

I believe that God is not interested in taking our thinking away but actually wants us to use our thinking ability to the full in understanding god's ways.

    Thanx.

I don't if you have ever seen a KJV with the original preface by the translators but it pretty much says the KJV was translated for the pleasure of Kings James and they were not particularly interested in pleasing God with it.

This statement is not any where close to why, how and when and from WHAT the KJV came about.

Again, you are using man and general godlessness to represent how it was accepted after it was written. But I say to you that all you said is politics of the time concerning that text.

Let's not misunderstand the point here. The bible was inspired by God. He made it happen. Let's not forget to give glory where glory is due. And to keep his word and bring glory unto him, for that he is worthy of it.

I will make it a point to give you the proper history, and a clear cut message concerning all the different bible versions, the different religions and even that of the Catholics to my leanings from the Holy Spirit. I will offer to you why I think the way I do in do time.

In the end, we should not be arguing. We both know the truth that is of Jesus Christ. That he does give by way of sending you the Holy Spirit a flood of truth in the heart and of those who believe and accept him, profound love, joy, inner peace and glory to come. But also, my brother, we should be prepared to tell Christians that after they accept Christ they will be also but before tribulation, temptation and prosecution to high degrees. It will be like jumping out of a plane for them....but by grace and fath God bends and pulls people into his love.

Let us pray that the fellowship of the Lord our Jesus Christ and that by the love of God we may have grace and peace in the comfort gift of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

    Your brother in Christ.

Dejavu, my friend, let me ask you why you do not accept Jesus, the truth and the light and the way ? FIf you don't mind.

I'll never be so foolish enough to be an atheist again. My time as one was just preparing me in truth, giving me a foundation so sturdy that I am unshakable in my understanding of the world and truth, through the redemptive properties of Jesus, our Lord and Savior and that I can discern all lies.

    If only you would learn.

    your brother

I do accept Jesus. The man knew what was up. I don't accept his death as a 'sacrifice' though. He was murdered.

No need to be an "atheist" to be a friend of mine. Be yourself man.

Any more I'm trying to warn people of how shaky they stand in these turbulent times...for in the eyes of God many are in trouble and simply do not know... without Christ in your heart big trouble is near. And there is not one question about it.

    1. Really get to know God
    2. Repent
    3. Humble yourself
    4. call on Christ
    5. Live free of sin
    6. Profit!!!!

I can not stress enough how true this is. God put me through so many trials in the last 10 years. By looking for truth in the prospective of a hard core atheist. Then he sent me Jesus and truth.

You will learn how sin leads to decay. All of man is falling, we live in a fallen world.

Evolution exemplifies this incredibly. Man is sinful and sin decays.

God has to call on you to be saved...he calls you to him. Feel the pull.
