"I'm sorry, but I have an innate distrust of polls and studies, especially those provided by Match.com (by the same company that brought you Ticket (Bastard) Master) (or Gallup for that matter) and published by USA Today. I work in the advertising business and you'd be amazed (or maybe not) at the lengths media outlets and polling firms will go to get the "right" answer for their clients."

What I find confounding is how quickly after a president gives a speech or a new event happens in a poltical campaign etc prior to an election that Gallup polls will say that a candidate has lost "9 points" in their approval rating.

"This just in after John Mccain told the press that Obama had used the race card his approval rating fell by 12 points."

    It just stretches credibility.

How young are we talking, here? I'm 28 and the only time I wasn't looking for my "soul mate" was in between "soul mates" that didn't work out. Maybe I'm odd, but I never really saw the point in a short term relationship. *shrug* I've been with the same feller for 6 years now. No big deal.

Sounds like you might be bitter because you haven't found girls who suit your desires yet.

geez isn't it obvious that a person's feeling affect how they see things? Psych 101. Don't you think? Boy everyone likes to psychoanalyze people more than empathize with people.

I don't know it seems like most movies I watch portray both men and women as being into relationships but then everybody says otherwise.

Maybe people don't understand me when I say I would like a meaningful relationship. I don't expect a loving romantic relationship to end in marriage. Why is it that whenever I talk about my feeling everybodies like "well not everybodies into that long term lovey gushy stuff": But when I talk about how maybe I would like a fling people are like "typical guy! if you just want nookie why don't you find a prostitute!"-yes they are like that. Uh! It's not like people are deliberately trying to drive me insane they just act exactly as if they were trying to do just that.

Bitching on here isn't going to get you laid. You haven't found what you want out there yet. So go out and keep looking and stop tapping away here as if it's going to help matters.

Yeah, well I am talking early 20's. Most girls at clubs are that age range. Many that aren't with BFs are looking for hookups I suppose. I'm not against that at all. I think that maybe some people want relationships that are meaningful that don't lead to being soul mates. But I am wrong maybe?

Nooooo, you just take it in a straight forward way. Or cos perhaps you are straight forward yourself you just automatically take what they say at face value.

All the vulgar talk happens when a bunch of guys are together, mob mentality. "I tell ya mate, would have given her what for If I didnt already have a girlfriend" - when they havent even drummed up the courage to talk to the girl they are referring to. That kind of thing

    There's three basic looks:

    1. They think you are out of their league: Arms crossed, head to the side, try pretend you are not there

    2. They think you are in their range, if they are horny they'll do what happened to you, if still too insecure will wait till you've gone, jump up and down with their best friend "Yay Sharon, he looked at my boobs!"

    3. If they think you are a toad, they give you that look like they just swallowed their own snot

But Gender doesnt magically solve the basic rules. The one with the bigger crush has the less power, more likely to crash and burn, thus bigger risk for them to start things. All the defensive stuff is the same, just different - guys its all that fake macho stuff, girls its all about fake hot

mm, i never really saw it that way. it is true that here u can see sexual hints displayed everywhere in the media. for example its not unusual to
hear explicit sexual jokes on tv in the middle of the day, or to turn on a national tv channel at 10pm and see an erotic movie. But i think its not specific to France, its a European thing, and it might "shock" American pple but it's only cuz American tv is incredibly prudish.
recently i saw the French Idol tv show, and the American actress Cameron Diaz was there as a special guest, so she watched the French wannabe-singers perform. at some point one 17yo girl sang Lily Allen's song "F*ck u". it wasn't beeped or censored, and when she sang the words "fck u" she also gave the finger to the cameras. the French audience was cheering and found it funny, but Cameron Diaz had that "OMG so shocking" look on her face, lol.
so yea, what im sayin is that its not that we're sex-crazed, its that America is prudish. (its ok though, we love u)

whoa. no offense but based on what u said in this thread, i thought u were maybe 15ish.

    :iagree:

chill out, u aren't under attack.

    "Young women like assholes."

I don't think all of them do. The ones that do I'm not really interested in. There are tons of mean girls out there just as there are assholes. I don't need sex so badly that I need to bang just anybody regardless of their character. I would like to be able to have a discussion about relationships without it devolving to "go get laid" as some people in this thread are implying.
