Is it possible to suffer from bulimia without vomiting or taking laxatives?

No. Not unless you found another way to get nutrients out of your body after you've eaten and before you can digest them.

It is more likely that you'd have anorexia (not eating at all or eating too little).

Well, I have basically every sign that I'm suffering from bulimia except that I don't vomit or take laxatives.

I'm suffering from depression and loss of energy, so I haven't been physically able to run around like a maniac or work out after I've been eating.

Well, then you probably have anorexia. Why are you so sure it's bulimia and not anorexia? Do you worry about your weight? Just being depressed isn't a sign of an eating disorder, unless you are depressed specifically about your weight and have an unhealthy body image. How tall are you? How much do you weigh?

    Thanks for taking the time....

I asked a friend of mine who is suffering from bulimia, and she said "perhaps anorexia", but then again...

Well, lately I've totally lost appetite, or at least, when I eat, I feel like this block in the gullet. And, even when I feel hungry, it kinda feals neat, cause I feel thinner.

    Okay

I can go a day with maybe eating a yoghurt and half a waffle, and that's it. But then, maybe twice a week, I just get this sudden rush, like kind of desperate, like I need ice coffee, chocolate, sugar, coca cola, and when I've eaten it till I can't eat more, it's like "phu, that feels good" for about 2 minutes, then it's "what the fuck have I done?!", then it's the storm of guilt, and then it starts again, diet ("I'm never going to do that again"). Then, maybe the next day, or a few days later, it happens again, and it happen again, again, and again.

The lists goes on, on all the symptoms...

It's just that I don't throw up on purpose or anything similar.

    All the time. No expception.

177 cm. and... about 75 kilo (lost about 5 kilos on a week just a little while ago, then now the past few days I gained... about 2 kilos)

oop I just read the rest of the thread.... you probably have bulemia... if you go on binges and then out of guilt/fear of getting fat you crash diet it sounds like bulemia to me.

What if you constantly think "I gotta work out, I gotta work out, or else I get fat" all the time after you've eaten, but you're so tired that you physically can't?

edit: okay, thanks.... What do you suggest I do?

you are tired because your not eating enough, you need more calories and possible dehydrated. Start counting the calories of what you eat and find out how many you need to keep your current body weight to start.

switch to more whole foods they contain more fiber and nutrients with less calories then processed foods, drink a glass of water before eating. eat 3-4 small meals a day, only exercise for 30-40 mins a day, over exercising can cause problems. if you get an craving for a food eat some of it, denying yourself will cause more problems.

if you fall off the "wagon" just get back on, if you do accidently eat alot more one day it is alright, your body will only gain weight if you constantly eat alot of calories week after week. your body will fluctuate its weight a few pounds, lose some, gain some this is normal thru out the week and month.

this is a serious matter and you should also get counseling to help you
    take control of your life

Thanks, but I've been feeling tired even when I was eating healthy and frequently.

Do you think I might have an eating disorder, or it's just a coincidence that I have almost every sign that could indicate bulimia? I don't know, I'm just frustrated about this cycle. I feel that, whatever I do, it won't help.

    Peace and love,
    C

    Okay, thank you.

It's nice to know that you're not alone..

Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?

How often do you binge, and how long have you had what you have?

To me at least, it seems like, "nice" days, little worries. Little worries - LESS problems related to eating.

BAD days, a lot of worries. - A lot of worries, strain, and stress - BIG chance of binging.

So basically, if there are periods where I am really stressed and worry a lot, there is a higher risk of binging.

When I think about it, I think it has lasted several years. I just haven't been really aware of it before now.

I've had problems with both Anorexia and Bulemia. I guess I got to have the best of both worlds. *joking, of course*

When I was diagnosed as a Bulemic, I would binge majorly, and then throw up. Most of the time I didn't have to manually force myself, it was the guilt of what I had eaten that did it.

I would talk with your doctor. You don't want to suffer this way. Believe me.

Good luck and much love to you...

I have an eating disorder as well. I am EDNOS ( eating disorder not other wise specified), but I display tendancies of both anorexia ( calorie counting, restricting, body image) and bulimia ( overexercising, binging, and I have occasionally purged). Of course, this is very shameful to admit, because most people do not know that I suffer from an ed. If anyone ever wants to talk, just send me a message. I know the pain of an ed, and NO ONE should have to feel that pain alone.
