I haven't been on this site in some time, and that is bc I was given a classic intervention by my therapist and family (My loving and supporitive psychiastrist disagreed but as I live in harrisburg pennsylvania he cannot perscribe it to me). INTERVENTION FOR POT. I finally had enough and signed myself out on a saturday at midnight. All my friends, who i thought were my friends who lived nearby (thank CHRIST this rehab was an hour from where I lived), including a dear friend of mine, betrayed me...one friend genuinely would have but he doesn't have a car lol. Irony- my parents paid a cab to take me home once they even began to realize the absurdity of the situation and how the situation was sending me into a state of severe medical danger (in a week i lost 15 pounds- and no , i was no vomiting/purging) (I have a SEVERE history of PTSD, and that is something of course we know for which medicinal 420 is prescribed and has been so profoundly useful in my recovery. So I feels soooo good to be so baked that i cant remember how to email my one friend on this site right now! AND it reminds me WHY Breaks ARE def needed sometimes! I need to watch my psycholocal addiction and tolerance buildup! Suggestions welcome! I CANNOT go over an oz a month! :) and now must be middies :( (due to fact im on financial stipend while i am unemployed to work on my PTSD

Congrats. I know how fantastic cannabis is for problems like this.
As for keeping in controll i advise almost a schedule of when to medicate. Maybe a coupla bowls around 13:00, 16:00 and then as required through the evening. Keep the mornings free as i found if i wake and bake depresion can become an issue before the days up. Id really recomend you use the morning for a jog or even a stroll round the park, and get 3 healthy meals a day. this worked for me while unemployed.
get a routine and be POSITIVE and stay strong. the past is no longer with you and what has hurt you will only make you stronger.
    best of luck

1st off - good for ya'...and what jackasses to do an intervension for POT! gad. Sometimes, tho', it's best to know a person's true colors, and I'd color their's dirty.

2nd - my cousin has lived in about 35 states and said Penn was the WORSE state ever...like a "dark cloud was over the whole state" & that as soon as he left that state he immediately felt emotionally better.

I can't believe that rehab centers waste their time and resources on cannabis "addiction". That's so fucked up.

OH NOT JUST THAT, but here are some examples of my experiences there:

    1) when they asked me how much alcohol I drink, I explained I don't drink alcohol- and they said to me, "WELL YOU HAVEN CHOSEN AN EVEN MORE DANGEROUS AND LIFE THREATENING SUBSTANCE TO ABUSE"

2)Almost all the other women there were bored rich housewives who drank b/c they were "bored", and when I tried to explain my trauma, I was told by these cunts that paraphrased for the sake of response which was actually quite more cruel "Its bad girls like me that gets nice respectable women like them & THEIR daughters raped"- and at that point I had enough

3)Plus - I'm sorry to offend anyone who has found peace but I believe AA/NA is a CULT just like DAVID KORESH or JIM JONES, and i kept getting in trouble for hiding under my bed during forced AA/NA meetings- and the whole time I got there, ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT was that Strangers with Candy Episode where Jerri Blank gets snatched into the cult that contstantly sings that song "I'm gonna sit at the welcome table" over and over again JUST like those AA cult members do their serenity prayer and will OBEY ANY COMMAND asked of them! ROFL!! I know I didn't leave by throwing a water fountain out of a window :(, but I sure did feel RP McMurphy and Chief Bromden's soul in me that night!!:2thumbsup:

AA was founded with LS fucking D.. so unless AA has some LS Fucking D... its Fake as fuck.. While all the ssi collecting alcoholics funnel themselves into a room, drink coffee and chain smoke tobacco.. Meanwhile cant wait for meeting to be over so they can score some crack in the lot, because they are on probation and know crack leaves your system in 2 days..

tell me its not true. I sold crack to 4/5 differnent people all claiming to be in recovery for booze.. while they do other drugs.. I bet If you gave one these fucking yahoos 500ug of LSD25. They wouldnt be home gardening or trying to clean spots off the floor.....

and while im spiritual and all.. AA/NA has no place for non spiritual people/Atheists .. fuck them and their so called higher powers.. Who the fuck give s a bunch of drunks the right to tell you.. YOU NEED BELIEVE IN A HIGHER POWER..

you know what I believe.. I believe the donation money for AA/Na is going in someone liqueur cabinet and crackpipe that's what I believe..

AA/NA should never be brought into public controversy.. And why is that??

I can. Anything can become a problem when abused. I think its a little narrow minded to believe that. I was heavilly addicted to weed a while back while unemployed. id smoke a joint and roll another 12 hours a day and sleep for twelve. i would sacrafice food and basic necesities just to get high because it was the only thing that took me away from the pain i was feeling. But that meant i couldnt do anything to address my problems because i fell into the repeteive proccess of an addiction.
I then quit for six months, because id lost tons of weight and was becoming ill physically and mentaly. I began weight training at the gym which gave me all my confidence back.
I train hard now for mental and physical exelence and smoke in moderation for personal connection with the music of the spheres.
But seriously you yanks go into rehab to quit rehab,
i say no, no ,no!

When I was busted for (my 2nd) DUI about 20 yrs ago, I was required to go to AA meetings as part of "the program" to get back my license.
By the time I was even eligible to get back my license - a yr after the DUI, I had quit drinking...but after going to those damn AA meetings, I remember wanting a drink worse than I ever had before! As far as the "higher power" part...they didn't address that around here really. It was just a bunch of stand up and whine and whine and whine some more about the SAME THING...godalmighty it was awful.

How ignorant that place was, SC - if I had continued to drink it would have KILLED me. It is a KNOWN scientific fact that alcoholism will KILL you. Smoking weed or even eating it has never harmed me, but helped me stay (fairly) sane.

So you understand how an adiction can take a grip of your life, where the only thing you think of is getting a drink or joint or line or shot or rock or a bet or a fuck. You make a fair point, nobody has died from smoking cannabis. FACT! but an adiction to anything becomes like a family member you love and cant think of being without in your life. you cant let go and this dominates your life.

I am so sorry to hear you had to go through such a barbaric process. So, let me get this straight... You already went? Or you WILL be going soon? Either way sucks.

I just don't see how people can't allow themselves to view situations through another person's perspective. In this case, your stupid therapist couldn't even realize that the only thing keeping you from going completely nuts IS the pot! Just because HE/SHE thinks pot is "bad" completely precludes him/her from even entertaining the possibility that pot can help OTHER people. For example, I personally find pot to make my bipolar much WORSE, and it takes days to 'recover' from even taking like one toke off a pipe. However, I still have the ABILITY to realize that my brain chemistry is unique and that for SOME people with mental illnesses, pot HELPS them.

You obviously have the ability to empathize as well. As we discussed, amphetamines help my situation IMMENSELY, and you completely acknowledge that despite admitting that they make your situation WORSE.

Well that is my amphetamine fueled response. I hope it makes sense. And again, my sincerest condolences that you had to go through it.

I agree, Beady, up to a point...I have had severe chronic depression since I was a teenager (and really even before that, I remember being depressed but not having the vocabulary for it). A number of years ago I was "treated" for this with pills, which, for me just made me feel worse and really crazy on top of being depressed!
Marijuana is what helped me get my "head on straight" (lol) - meaning that it helps/helped me get over the worse of the pit of depression.
