big green thing to.. I caught it outside.. Im typing with one hand peck style,, lol.:2thumbsup: i wish i had a camera.......
grosssss! I saw one stuck inside the screen at the gas station the other day. I find it odd that I haven't heard many of them all summer until lately...
its on the insiddddddddddee the window now, I had to put it down .. Its being loud over there.. no more loud it was outside.. i love the creature myself. been a while since ive captured one .
We have lots of cicadas down where I live. They are sort of a nuisance. I much prefer crickets. Crickets sing. Cicadas are obnoxious.
I think they are cute. We don't ahve anything like that over here really. The one that really freaks me out at the moment, are ladybirds.
I hear those suckers all the time, but I never see them. I'd probably freak out if I ever saw one, lol. But I love them, that sound of the trees buzzing, it's just the sound of late summer evenings, and I have a lot of good memories involving cicada background music.
I havent really seen one I could grab like this.. I usually see them high up and cant reach them. I thought damn that thing is loud when I went outside, .. I was tripping to , so it was much more the special..
Up until now I thought cicada was a type of mexican dish. Is it from mexico? If I get one landing on the back of my hand what should I do, should I swat it or blow it off with my mouth?
They dont bite humans.. They just feel like a big bug on you... They are actually a beautiful insect to experience when tripping on shrooms.... praying mantis would be another..
Hey, girl! Long time, no see! What you are more than likely hearing are crickets. Crickets make lovely sounds, almost like "music." I say this because cicadas make a really high-pitched and terribly obnoxious noise. I once saw a cicada, a grasshopper, and a praying mantis in a three-way brawl. It was probably the coolest thing I've ever seen in the insect world. I took pictures at the time. Then, my old laptop died along with everything else. I miss that picture. My new laptop has been subject to such privileges. I was going to submit it to National Geographic or something.
Ew, don't swat it. You'll get a gigantic puddle of goo on your hand. You probably won't get it off just by blowing it off, either, because cicadas look like they could be the goat of the insect world. They'll just tilt their heads to the left and look at you, reproachfully. They'd probably meow at you if they could. Weird creatures. Fine in small does, terrifying in quantity.
one time a cicada fell out of a tree onto my head at my friend's house and i FREAKED the fuck out. i think i ended up doing like 3 laps around her yard... because my instincts think running is the best way to get a cicada off my head
Nah, I'm pretty sure it's cicadas. Crickets chirp, I hate the chirping. Cicadas kinda sound like the trees are full of vibrators. I like the buzzy sound. It's pretty neat here, one tree will start buzzing, then in rounds other trees around the neighborhood will start buzzing, and it's pretty trippy. [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsgzpidjkQE ^ That's what the outside sounds like all summer long in the evenings, except like I said, one tree will start, then others will join in, kind of like they're singing in rounds. It's really cool, I wish there was a way I could record it so you guys could hear it.
