Hi, I am a Ph-D student at the University of Gothenburg and next April I will be doing a conference paper on modern receptions and representatios of the Roman emperor Elagabalus, as a supposedly homosexual icon. As part of my research I am conducting a mini-study among gay and lesbian communities based on a written questionnaire. This is a calling out to anyone and everyone interested in partcipating by doing the questionnaire. All questions are voluntary and participation is strictly on your own terms! To alleviate any fears of dealing with a stuffy academic, I can tell you I am 23 years old, lesbian and slightly gender troubled. I'd also like to point out that I am not an anthropologist but a doctoral student in Classical Archaeology and Ancient History (so the people I deal with are usually dead since at least AD 500). This is my first time conducting a study with living people. In other words, all help is most welcome! If you are interested in participating or have any questions, feel free to contact me at crystal_clown@hotmail.com Linnea Ă…shede Classical Archaeology and Ancient History Department of Classical Studies University of Gotheburg Sweden PS. Anyone just want to discuss Elagablus here on the forum? Go ahead!
Never really been interested in the Emperors, I'm afraid. Happy to discuss Sidonius with you, though, if that's any help ...
i'd post in the gay forum as well... if the questionnaire is not specific to the romans i'm sure you'll get plenty of responses unless we have gay roman fanatics of course. i personally don't know anything about this sort of thing however - but i'd give the questionnaire a go.
