    Last resort ><
I hate the ones around my ears. Getting so fed up I'm considering brushing. Feels too.. clingy. Geasy. Dunno. Uncomfy.

Tried sewing them in with an embroidery needle: fell out

    Crochet: fell out

    Wool rub: fell out

All those methods you mentioned should do the job.

I think we should go back and look at why the hair is greasy, which in my opinion is why these methods are failing.

When's the last time you did a deep cleanse?

Is is possible that the greasiness is caused by wax in the past?

Let us know how you go,

    Peace.

lol i know you do a lot of ball-to-ball action Glen.

To clarify, I mean the process of pinching a loosie tip between the thumb and index finger and rubbing in a circular motion until it creates a little ball that can be conveniently tucked into a nearby lock.

Lol, dread balling. I get this mental image of 2 dreads gettin down and dirty. :D

As for the loosies, maybe a little baby powder would keep them from lookin greasy? I dunno babe, im in the same situation.

I'm a little over 4 years and my hairline does not dread. At all.
My loose hairline hairs are almost as long as my dreads. So much so, that if I pull my hair up in a certain way, it looks like I have regular hair.

Few months ago I tried bleaching the crap out of it. Partially because I thought it would look cool and partially because I was hoping the damage would help my hairline get sucked in. While it does indeed look cool, my hairline still wont take a knot.

Sometimes ya just gotta live with how your hair wants to be.

    Its true manservant.

I tried dreadballing into surrounding dreads and while it worked, it made my dreads pull funny when my hair was up and felt uncomfortable.

Cut the loose hairs back/off? Though I suppose they'll just grow back and be awkward lengths unless you kept cutting them.

Are there much off them? Pics?

Srsly, start washing properly more often, and with something that works for your hair. I think our hair type is probably not that different and mine never really got any thinner. On average they probably stayed about the same, some got a bit fatter, some maybe a little thinner depending on how I separated them. Don't cut the loose bits off anyway, then they really will get thinner and it'll be really noticeable and look dumb.

When I used to maintain mine, (other than washing) I used to dread ball the loose hair, stuff it in, squash the root with my hands or root-rub it before washing. Afterwards I used to spray them with salt water and repeat the process once they were dry. If you continue to do this on a regular basis the hair will eventually stay in. You just have to be careful not to dry out your hair too much. I'm not really recommending you do this, regular washing should be enough to keep the loose hair down to a reasonable amount. I only do this these days, if I feel I have to for special occasions or whatever. In other words not very often!

What are you washing with anyway?

Just to show. Dirty hair vs clean and tidied up hair.

You're the last person I'd expect to be practising dread balling.

    You think you know someone!

Like I said, it was years ago that I used to do it on a regular basis, I only tidy them up if I feel I have to.

Merrivale- Washing with a lush shampoop bar about every 2 weeks, wet flannel in between.

    Nope, they haven't.

    Because hair gets greasy?

I don't do deep cleanses. And anyway, DC would have nothing to do with loosies.

Again... wax has nothing to do with loosies.

Look guys, the shit I've tried hasn't worked. Nothing to do with what I use to wash with or when I wash. I agree with barefoot, probably just hairs that won't budge.

    What is dread balling?

Dragon, the point I am trying to make is that greasy hair will not dread!

Your saying that your problem is you've got greasy hair and you cant get loosies to dread.

    BINGO!

If you understand that, you can realise your original problem is the greasiness.

Once that is solved you may find your loosies problem goes away.

If I were having grease problems, I'm pretty sure the first thing i'd try is a deep cleanse

    I'm just saying.
