After the disturbances in London, last night, Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Stockport and Manchester (my home town) saw cowardly youths vandalising houses and street furniture and stealing from stores, shops and people on the street for a cause of "because we can"! There is no cause, reason nor purpose apart from ignorance at these mindless acts (*) - including at latest count 5 fatalities! This is NOT what Rebellion is about, not what was fought for and over in days past, and totally, misses the point The Manchester weather hopefully has put off those louts whose sole purpose was to destroy, rob and bring terror to the meek, weak and vulnerable - as they are all 'dead hard' in groups. The public response in unified condemnation has at least given a ray of sunshine to the darkness of idiocy (*) I am however, a degree concerned over the fact that the seemingly unified actions show a degree of, dare I say it, mind-ful co-ordination. I never thought I'd appreciate CCTV, and though it would be easy to follow the line of”I hope that those captured on video will reap their just desserts", there is an excuse here for more stringent monitoring measures being a justifiable reason to pry into social networking sites, home, email and telephone calls (Cameron has already authorised the use of Water Cannons and (OMG) plastic bullets!! that is a real fear Hopefully UK towns can calm themselves down; Parents (for a lot of these yobs being 12-20 years) can get a grip and restore some sense of decency into them (????) - Well one has to hope and public (verbal + physical) reaction can deter those of little brain (Go looking for trouble, one will find it) - Best of wishes UK
There is a cause and a reason for everything. If people would understand that then maybe we could avoid things like these and sort our society out. Everyone pretending they're not at fault and there was no cause to this will not solve anything. As usual in this society, the actions will be a remedy, a cure. Stronger police powers or what have you. Well, now the damage has been done, what's locking these people up going to do? It's going to breed more hate, it's going to turn them into hardened criminals and it's going to give the great uninformed a false sense of satisfaction and security. What we need to focus on is prevention, ie educating these people and providing them with the kind of equality that would satisfy their sense of deprivation. It is our culture as a whole that is at fault here. If people don't start caring in the way they should then this will happen again and again. You reap what you sow.
There's a domestic altercation on my street but that's fucking normal. Cunts + alcohol = Noise. I fucking hate this country.
My city wasn't too bad last night, but the night before, not so good. Have a look at the photos http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-14459854. Hopefully the weather will stay bad or people will see sense...
Thankfully I don't live in a big city, just a town, but there was a bit of trouble at Tesco's there were a load of chavs kicking off and the police were called, but to be honest, not much more trouble than usual. I fucking hate these rioting scumbags.
amen. they aren't rioting for a cause, or for anything at all except the chance to cause trouble and steal things from cost co. mindless crime. it's a case of 'everybody else is doing it' syndrome.
Good thing I live in the middle of nowhere where there are no cunts and scumbags. Oh how I love Devon.
