My encounter with a civil war ghost

Yes the pics and audio files are there. In the one pic there is a blue/white human shaped figure, it does look like a ghost. desert rat

 

Yup, I can see all the photos now.

I see the blue/white figure in the first pic. It does look kinda ghostly at first glance. However I tried to see it as human-looking, and I just couldn't see it. Then I copied the pic and blew it up larger to examine more carefully. And now I'm thinking the blue/white haze is actually just a reflection in the water of a piece of sky amidst the tree reflections.

In the second photo it seems to me that the streaks of light are simply the effect of the sun on the lens - I get that sometimes in photos if I'm not careful about the angle of the shot. Or of course, it can be used for pretty effects sometimes.

I'll need to listen to the audio clips later - can't do that where I am right now.

I'm sorry for the discouraging assessment, Dragonfly. I really wanted to see ghostly stuff in the pics, but realistically I don't think there is any. This is not to say there was not a ghostly occurance when you were there the first time - just that so far it looks like you haven't been able to get any substantiating physical evidence. But maybe the audio files will be more promising - I'll let you know what I think after I hear them.

 

Okay, finally got to listen to the audio files in a decent environment. I listened over and over to both files. I have to say, I think the "enhanced" second file really isn't much help. But I gave the first one lots of tries. I will mention also that I've had some training in linguistics - both theoretical and practical. I was trained to listen to someone speaking a language I've never heard before, and accurately record the sounds in phonetic symbols. The voice in the recording is very soft, but my opinion, for whatever it's worth, is that a tenor male voice is saying in a Southern accent, "He's dead."

Not proof, exactly, but it does lend a bit of provisional credence to the whole story. Of course we would have to assume that the voice is not some other living human present at the scene. But it does seem like a nice start to what could be a continuing investigation.

With the stated assumptions in mind, I would have to say: Nice work, Dragonfly.

 

Fascinating. Stories of paranormal experiences and spirit sightings deeply intrigue me. I have some desire to witness a ghost or something paranormal, but at the same time I don't because I know it would scare the hell out of me.

As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, my own close examination led me to believe that the bluish "human shaped figure" is actually a reflection of a patch of sky in the water.
