Animal Abuse Vs Child Abuse

What do you think is worse?

 

I voted for child abuse, but they're both just as bad really. Children and animals are both basically helpless.

I voted for child abuse. But animal abuse is equally evil. I guess if I saw a dog being with a stick and I saw a child being beaten with a stick at the same time. I would go to the child's aid first. I'm not sure what that says about me. Good question.

Can't really compare them, it's just what life we consider more valued to us I suppose. I voted child, although they're all on the same level in my opinion.

I agree, they are both equally horrible. I guess it depends on how old the child is, and what type of animal it is. If the kid was a teenager and could fight back then maybe it wouldn't be as bad as a person abusing a new born puppy. And the other way around, if a person was abusing a lion that could fight back, it wouldn't be as bad as a person abusing a new born baby. Unless the animal is caged and unable to fight... that changes everything

 

they are both bad but what they consider child abuse now is rediculous.seems to be nothing but spoiled little brats runnin around these days.

 

This is also true, everything is considered abuse now a days, I don't believe punishment such as a spanking should be considered abuse, personally i've never even been spanked, and i think i grew up just fine... there are better ways of dealing with punishment other than hitting, but still... it shouldn't be classified as abuse.

 

I'm surprised the poll is 50/50 right now, I haven't even voted because i haven't decided... I think, animal abuse is worse... simply because i think animals are a lot more innocent, sure children are innocent... but every child grows up to be an adult, and no adult is completely innocent.

Well, don't you think an animal has just as much right to live than we do? We are just animals too. If you think that, then abusing an animal and abusing a child should be equally horrible, but i had to vote for animal being worse strictly because they are more innocent (in general) than humans, in my opinion.
