Dealing marijuana isn't really that serious. You sound like you plan to go to the 'hood tonight and scope the place out for "real dealers."

You don't need to do this. Ask your friends where they normally get theirs from, give them 50 dollars next time they buy something, get weed in return. Next time go with them to meet whoever they get it from. Befriend this person. Exchange digits. Call. Its easy.

Alright. There's no real way to know an undercover cop...it's kind of a risk your either willing to take or not. Go by intuition; if it doesn't feel right, don't do it.

Don't be sketch. Start up a conversation with them, don't just randomly ask a stranger for drugs.

If you don't want to get ripped off, get a scale. I think 1 penny= 3 gram. Or maybe 3 pennies= 3 grams. (double check that).

Smell it, look at it, touch it. Make sure its not oregano lol. You know what bud looks like, use your best judgement and a good amount of common sense. Seeds and stems weigh the bag down, so avoid a seedy bag.

    Welcome to the forums :)

Unless you are planning to by multiple pounds or crack, heroin or meth I seriously doubt you need to worry about narcs.

It just isn't worth the time and money to bust someone for buying a bag of weed.

Ask friends that you believe have smoked. Sometimes people will surprise you, herb is everywhere man. I have asked people I thought were total squares and they give me awesome hookups. It usually has a pretty distinct smell. If you can, go to their place and have them scale it in front of you, if they are someone you trust of course, I have gotten myself into some kind of sketchy situations.

I dont know how old you are, but when I was in high school you could literally just go out front to the smokers pit and say "anyone got a g I can grab", and you would have 2 or 3 offers on the spot.
