First of hello and thanks for reading my thread. My roommate has a younger brother who I mentor and try to be there for him. He is a transgendered. Female to Male. I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas or suggestions that I can do to make him feel more comfortable and confident within himself. He's 15. He has a pretty open minded family.. hell his sister is a lesbian. Also his birthday is coming up.. gift ideas that could help his transition or such? Every time i ask him what he wants hes like I dunno... Teenagers lol Thanks Marcus
Firearms/aka BB GUN...:2thumbsup:.. What does he like? ... sports, fishing, cars, games, bikes, what? Why you no tell us these things???
I was hoping to do something that would help his transition. Hes on estrogen blockers/hormones. he likes video games, facebook, girls, skateboarding, computers. I've taken him to the firing range with me a few times. I could get him his own rifle.. he seems to prefer the rifle over all. BTW This isn't just about his birthday present.. thats why I had the title as just help... >.<
Hard to say what you could do otherwise. Be supportive, you shouldnt buy any herbals supplements for him. Im not sure if thats what you meant, or just pointing out the transition is for real and not a phase she was going though. These supplements could be harmful with the medications hes already taking. What kinda activities can you handle? Its all Im wondering . While this isnt going to secure that he becomes some macho male. But camping, rock climbing, white water rafting comes to mind. Id be more supportive of his mind set and not try and force him outside his true character.. Maybe get him some clothing , or a gift card. Then he can buy what he wants.. Id suggest you buy the rifle on terms its a birthday gift only to be used with you, and you keep possession of it. Til he reached mature age and get something else as gift of lesser value to keep. Or you can always keep that in mind til next yr. read reason for editing. .
Way to fail on pronoun usage. .. no not talking supplements.. I dunno what to ask for not supplements tho.. more to help him appear more male.. be it a type of shirt that helps with a flat chest or appear to have junk? He said he wanted to be more manly.. I can handle a lot. I'm a retired combat military guy. avid rock climber.. and free diver. and camping doesn't make someone a macho male lol.. i know girls who camp Do you have any experience with transguys?
