WHo here uses this site to make most of their money.. I have been wondering for quite some time how I am going to make money and I think Ebay might have finally saved me!
Lol isn't it great for stolen anything!! Neways, I get such a good deal on merchendice it is practically a steal. No way I'm spilling the beans though.
I had a thread while ago about ebay since i never bought/sold anything off it. From what i've learned sellers usually get screwed over and buyers get the better side. Sellers give a certain % while buyers buy that %, now... Lots of items i've looked at are crazy over priced but others are dirt cheap. The buyer gets the better end as far from with i know. I wouldn't look at the site to make money. Buying artifacts and other valuable items it can be priceless for the dumb people selling. Getting rid of something to get rid of it vs for money are two very different things.
Ive had luck on it but prefer doing business hand to hand with cash Ive also learned not to buy from China...99.9% of it is very low quality crap..and while it only costs them pocket change to mail things to us...its costs 100 times more to return anything to them
Ive made one ebay purchace. It's an alice in chains car window decal. but I had someone else get me a door mirror for my car, too. both were good buys.
My bf sells a lot of stuff on Ebay. It's good for supplemental income, but you have to dedicate a lot of hours to it, or at least have a GREAT connection for cheap stuff to resell at a ridiculous margin to actually make a living off it. I'd say he spends about 15-20 hours a week (in addition to his regular FT job) listing, corresponding, packing, shipping, etc... it brings in some change, but not much. And yeah, they really bite your ass with all the fees. Go for it though, if you have the time and know how.
Wow you weren't kidding, I sol 90 dlollars wortha stuff, and ebay wants 8 dollars for that. What bitches.
You have to take that into account when you try to sell something. I have sold a lot of stuff on ebay with "buy it now or best offer listings"s. I will set the buy it now price high-but below retail and bidders can offer me less. Sometimes stuff sits there a month or 2-but it usually sells by then and I usually get a higher price than if I put it up for auction.
I've gotten some awesome shit on ebay. Two Eric Clapton t-shirts, a shirt with John Lennon and Yoko Ono's nude album cover on it, an MP3 player, a couple of necklaces, a tam, and some baby dolls for my Magic Nursery collection. Huge thumbs up on all transactions, but I really think I got the better end of the deal. I don't think I'd sell on ebay, but I've got no issue buying. Haha.
thats not so bad...check out some local pawn shops or auction house fees and ebays fees really amout to nothing compared to the other options there is of course kijiji and craigslist type places to sell but they are best for local deals..ebay is worldwide
this funny I seen this picture 2seconds ago, come back here and youre talking bout ebay.?;p are you guys spying on my other browsing habits>..
've just noticed something. I was just bidding for a c.d on ebay. The bidding started low and I bid £1.70. Obviously someone else had set a highest bid so I had to try again. It then just occured to me that someone could set the highest bid for something ridiculous like £100 which means whoever was trying to bid up would keep getting the automatically set highest bid till it got to £100 and who's going to keep re-bidding to get past whatever the highest bid keeps getting set at once it get's beyond something reasonable? Everyone would just give up leaving whoever set the ridiculosly high highest bid would win it for their initial low bid.
I've had great luck at buying stuff, including cars, on ebay. I've also sold stuff (rare car parts) and did very well on the bidding. I wouldn't want to try to make a living off ebay sales though. It could eat up a lot of time and energy. I've got tons of books that I've thought about selling on Amazon but I sure it's the same time consuming deal.
