http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/08/19/us-arkansas-westmemphis-idUSTRE77I02520110819 After seeing the documentaries "Paradise Lost" and "Paradise Lost 2: Revelations" I am thoroughly convinced that these young men are innocent. The evidence in the case was circumstantial and flimsy at best. There was even a lack of DNA evidence at the scene. The trial to me was a ridiculous farce fueled by small town bigotry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXobZPf97FA"]Paradise Lost Trailer - YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZHx8I1Lg-4"]Paradise Lost 2 Trailer - YouTube Stay Brown, Rev J

WM3 leave prison with all belongings; source says they are not expected back! http://wm3org.typepad.com/blog/2011...s-source-says-they-are-not-expected-back.html
A person familiar with the case said that the earlier verdicts would likely be set aside in order to go ahead with the tentative agreement. In what’s called an Alford plea, they would agree that prosecutors have a solid amount of evidence against them — likely enough to win a conviction. Normally, when defendants plead guilty in criminal cases, they admit that they’ve done the crime in question. But in an Alford plea, defendants are allowed to insist they’re innocent, says Kay Levine, a former prosecutor who now teaches criminal law and criminal procedure at Emory University in Atlanta. She is not involved with the Arkansas case. http://wm3org.typepad.com/#
I never followed this, but.... DAMN, that's fucked up.... I hope they don't plea, it sounds like the state's shitting brix because the world's attention has repeatedly been called to their scapegoating bullshit. They had to start dealing to avoid paying millions for locking these guys up (if they're innocent, they sure as fuck deserve it) and you can hardly blame them for taking the first deal handed to them, having spent their whole adult lies in prison. Don't you love self-proclaimed conservatives who think it's liberal to let off innocent people? Or who think it's bringing justice to someone who's already dead by convicting the wrong person, as long as you destroy SOMEONE's life over it? Sort of religious thinking, like making a sacrifice, just piling it all on an easy target and believing in their guilt SO strongly that gawd won't notice they're innocent?
I also love it when someone gets exonerated after 30 years with DNA evidence then they interview the officer who arrests them, the DA who builds the case against them, and the Judge who hands down the sentence. And all 3 say the same thing: "I don't care if they got exonerated with DNA evidence that shows they weren't there. We just let a guilty man free." I mean how hard is it to say, "Man we fucked up." But in relation to this case I just love how the judge and attorneys said "Just because their DNA isn't there doesn't mean they didn't do it." I seriously want to know how you can commit a crime like this and leave none of your own DNA behind. Paradise Lost 2 makes a good case as to who might have done it but I won't say here as I think you should see the movie. Stay Brown, Rev J
This was just posted on the Free WM3 fb page: "Natalie from Dixi Chicks reporting gag order lifted and WM3 WILL BE RELEASED!!!"
Rock on! I just hope that they can survive on the outside. I remember seeing an interview with one of the kid's stepfathers (the one I suspect of being the actual killer) where he vowed to hunt and kill Damien Echols. Stay Brown, Rev J
Wow, talk about sinchronicity! I had heard about this case back when I was about 13 (I'm 26 now) and haven't thought about it in years until a couple days ago. How bizarre! But I am ECSTATIC to hear that they have been released!! Thank you for sharing!!!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44199686/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/?GT1=43001 I look back at this case and remember being 17 years old and living in a small town. I remember being a social outcast who dressed all in black and can't help but think that this could've been me. Stay Brown, Rev J
:2thumbsup:Free At Last. 18 years of these guys life wasted. I hope they can enjoy their freedom. Sometimes the system really sucks. Thanks to Johnny Depp and all the people who stood up for these guys.
Isn't it fucking great when people like Johnny Depp, Natalie Maines, and Eddie Vedder put their name and finances behind something like this. I remember reading that Eddie Vedder was there comforting Damien Echols wife at the hearing. I am having a couple of drinks for them tonight. Stay Brown, Rev J
Here's what else blows me away watching the news footage that was recently added is the guy with the shaved head and beard was the one that wanted to kill Damien Echols. That shit blows my mind. Stay Brown, Rev J
Yeah, I know the same feeling.... There's plenty of disapproving old people who would have loved to label me a murderer, and still would.... Plenty of them would happily see me executed because I totally WOULD murder, thats what all them barefooted acid droppin' peace lovin' manson followers do, right?
Yeah, Byers; he is kind of out there. He was terrible and then switched to supporting the WM3 in 2007 and going after Terry Hobbs.
Yeah, from what I remember he had a brain tumor. I just watched the 48 hours piece on Youtube. Stay Brown, Rev J
